Because we might actually schedule a game in Wichita that would never happen otherwise. I'm all in favor of scheduling high profile teams for 1 game a season in IBA. I’m not sure who we could get to play there but can you imagine the possibility of 17k rabid fans against the likes of Okie Light, Michigan St. or Gonzaga. (Forget KU as they’ll be arrogant enough to schedule someone else in IBA). I wouldn’t schedule a game against anyone just for the sake of playing there, but if we can get truly high profile teams in town on an equitable basis (I’d do a game in IBA and one at their arena) then why not?

The capacity for basketball at IBA is 12,000 not 17,000 (I think 17,000 or 18,000 was originally how the City Fathers presented the idea to the public but then started chopping). The chopping down of that number is unfortunately the reason Wichita will NEVER be considered for hosting more than a first or possibly second round series in the NCAA Tournament.

I'm so sick of the ignorance that seems to be spreading like a California wildfire.

People get hung up on "Talking Points" instead of using their brain and technology available to them to find real answers.

Then you can just tell the guys at 1410 THEY are wrong as well, because that is EXACTLY what they reported when they were talking about the WSU game at the Arena which led them into reporting that WSU was sending in their bid for the NCAA Tournament. Get off your frickin high horse. If you are right, there were 14 ways to say I was wrong instead of the way you did it.

You may well be correct that it is 15,000, but going with what I "heard" is not exactly true. That was not the first time I "heard" or "read" the 12,000 figure, so I didn't challenge it. (And please remember this is a message board not a college entrance exam.) Maybe I should have taken your "25 seconds" to confirm. But whether it's 12,000 or 15,000, it is still not the 17,000 which Boston mentioned (which I absolutely knew was too high) that I was pointing out. And the written word does not always come out with the same intent as the spoken word. I meant no disrespect to Boston in saying what I did. However, there was ABSOLUTELY no mistaking the superior tone and intent of your post. Therefore, as your obvious inferior I must bow to your superior intelligence (and attitude (high horse as it still is) and call this discussion at an end. Suggestion: Next time show a little less attitude when correcting someone.

I agree as long as it's not just anybody. We should do all we can to get high profile teams into the Chuck, but if we can land a top flight program by playing in IBA then I'm alright with it. We shouldn't play there just to play there though. And it should NEVER be used to play against KU/KSU.

The problem with this is once we do get one high-profile team into IBA, you can kiss goodbye any chance of having one at CKA.

My last word on this -- I didn't get "beat up pretty good" as you put it. How do you get your feelings hurt over an anomyous message board. I was not - how did you so colorfully put it - "butthurt" about being incorrect. If I'm wrong, I admit it and I acknowledged I was wrong. What I didn't appreciate was the way your buddy DTS as you would put it "called me out". There was no need for his comments, just as there is no need for you and your comments. Telling me I was incorrect would have been sufficient.

I said that sometimes the written word comes out differently than when you would be talking directly to someone. My coments to Boston were just that -- comments. I didn't call him ignorant. And other than being off on the seating capacity, what other part of what I said to Boston was so objectionable and wrong.
