I've been asking the most hardcore KSU fans I know if they have heard anything about that, and even they are completly clueless. One of them did say though, it all depends on how much respect the two schools have for one another when it comes down to scheduling. The way I see it, KSU might demand a 2 for 1, but WSU would never add another Iowa State like KSU is to our schedule for the next 3 seasons. What would be the point of that?? It wouldn't be strange if the WSU and KSU meet up in Janurary or after either. Stranger things have happened in Kansas.
Guys -- I didn't say that it WAS K-State -- just that the hosts of the show were speculating that it could be "purple clad". But the January bit is what threw me, because as has been mentioned, our non-con schedule is already set for this coming year and I know that Marshall (like most coaches) doesn't want to interrupt conference play to schedule a non conference opponent because it is so disruptive to the flow of the games. If someone knows someone at 1410, maybe they can find out if I even heard correctly this morning.
I heard Bob Hanson tallking about this on KGSO and he mentioned possibly doing a 3 KS teams vs. another state...ie, KU vs. N.Ariz., KSt vs. Ariz. St., and WSU vs. Arizona or something like this with another state that has three top tier teams.

Oklahoma, Ok. State, Tulsa...boom goes the dynamite!

Something like that could actually be kind of fun...

SOLID. :good:
EDIT: Although those would conference games for KU and KSU. I don't think they'd leave their home courts for conference games. Still a good thought though.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

If any game is classified as an official home game and I will think twice about attending. Games should not be off campus. If it is a home game against an in-state school my 4 seats will be vacant as a protest for giving up the home court advantage. Depending upon the timing of the game, I might just take a trip in stead. I have grave reservations about playing any home game outside of "The Roundhouse".

I love the Roundhouse and don't want too many games away from it, however, I GUARANTEE, IBA will be a tremendous home court advantage for our boys. No Worries.

NO! This is the home of the Wichita State University WheatShockers. PigXII conference games do not belong here. And unless the Chickenhawks and Mildcats are playing us, they can stay the hell out of Wichita as well.
I still do not understand why so many fans seem to be so interested in moving games to the Untrust Bank Building, when we have such a loud, tradition rich, well respected, and full, on-campus Levitt arena.
"Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.
Because we might actually schedule a game in Wichita that would never happen otherwise. I'm all in favor of scheduling high profile teams for 1 game a season in IBA. I’m not sure who we could get to play there but can you imagine the possibility of 17k rabid fans against the likes of Okie Light, Michigan St. or Gonzaga. (Forget KU as they’ll be arrogant enough to schedule someone else in IBA). I wouldn’t schedule a game against anyone just for the sake of playing there, but if we can get truly high profile teams in town on an equitable basis (I’d do a game in IBA and one at their arena) then why not?

I agree as long as it's not just anybody. We should do all we can to get high profile teams into the Chuck, but if we can land a top flight program by playing in IBA then I'm alright with it. We shouldn't play there just to play there though. And it should NEVER be used to play against KU/KSU.

The capacity for basketball at IBA is 12,000 not 17,000 (I think 17,000 or 18,000 was originally how the City Fathers presented the idea to the public but then started chopping). The chopping down of that number is unfortunately the reason Wichita will NEVER be considered for hosting more than a first or possibly second round series in the NCAA Tournament.

I'm so sick of the ignorance that seems to be spreading like a California wildfire.
People get hung up on "Talking Points" instead of using their brain and technology available to them to find real answers.
