It's not amazing at all -- College Basketball is BIG business, even for the little guys. If Thomas succeeds at FIU, then it not only brings notice to the school, but to the conference -- just like Calipari did to Memphis. More success = more butts in the seats = more $$ in the budget = more ability to attract better recruits. The stream has to start somewhere.
FIU, enjoy the positive publicity for the hire, it is all down hill from here!
