Financially we shouldn't lose, even with the $60K to the CBI. If we've sold 6000 tickets, that is $120K already.
I still feel like a dork for buying my season ticket seats. You can bet we will be moving down if the opportunity presents itself!Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

They aren't losing money. They just may not make as much as they could have, assuming more advertisement would result in more tickets sold - enough to make up for the ad costs.
Personally, I don't think the ads would do much good. An anecdote or two aside, I can't imagine there are many WSU fans who don't know about this. With access to the internet, TV and newspaper, if you don't care enough about WSU to pay attention (it was largely known the game would happen for almost a week), then you're probably not much of a fan and not likely to attend this game anyway.
Neither the CBI or the opponent is going to draw in the casual fan.
Just my take on it.
