Their official attendance numbers, going back to their game with Texas Tech, was over 6800 for every game.

      Counting

Something to factor in, Royal, is how attendance is counted at Stanford. Is it turnstile count or tickets sold? Presumably for this game, even if it isn't turnstile count, the actual game tickets sold will correlate pretty closely to the turnstile butt count, because season tickets won't be a factor. They'll actually have to buy separate tickets for this game.

Thus, if Stanford's 6800+ is inflated by season ticket sales, the number could be quite a bit lower for this game. The same is true here, of course, but based on history there's little doubt the Shocks will have a big crowd.

Send complaint email to AD Sexton.

All of the complaints mentioned above are well worth mentioning to Mr. Sexton.

No matter what 7200 is less than 10500.

I was just pointing out that Fever was stating a prediction based on a supposition that had no basis in fact.

Stanford basketball fans aren't gonna be that happy with the CBI. Stanford fans certainly aren't gonna be that thrilled to watch Boise State on their floor.

Care to venture out with a bet against me?

I'll bet the attendance is closer to my (1/3) 2300 prediction than your 6800 average post. What are we putting on the table.. ?...

As you'll see in my later post - they took care of it. The guy in the ticket office said the system was not smart enough to let us just buy a few of your season tickets - but they can do it on the phone. :goshocks:

I'm not a betting man, sorry.

I know where you're coming from, but I do prefer facts to supposition, so I provided some since you didn't.

                      I understand. It's cool.

I just have this sneaking suspicion..

Besides not being a betting man, I wouldn't bet you in this case because I hope you're right!

                          Attendance

I suspect Fever is right on the attendance in Palo Alto as well. They started 10-0 (against mostly lesser competition), and now they're in the CBI, so I doubt that this is a big deal on campus. And who else goes to their games other than students?

A few years ago, I went to the ticket office to purchase tickets for the Florida State game. I arrived before 8:00 AM. I had to fight my way into the ticket office lobby and fight my way out. I thought I would never get to the head of the line.

Today, I arrived at 8:15 AM to pick up my tickets for the Buffalo game. I ordered them on line. I was supposed to pick up the tickets at the Will Call window. It was closed.

There were three open windows for ticket sales. I secured my tickets from one of the three.

Including myself, there were four folks in the lobby.

I have an inkling that sales are not brisk. In the paper this morning, I read 2,500 tickets had been sold.

That was as of 1 pm yesterday.

I suspect the online ordering is much better this time around. And there seems to be more time to buy tickets, as well.
