The Valley's national profile isn't going to dry up and blow away if Creighton doesn't get in, or Illinois State Two (or three!) teams are better than one, but the Valley is universally considered at or near the top of the heap of the non-"power" conferences, and one decision by the selectiors won't change that. (For our football fans, the Valley is clearly the top non-football playing conference in the country.)

Same with the money -- it's a bit, but the Shocks aren't going to live or die based on their slice of whatever revenue Creighton would generate.

He seemed pretty passionate about CU, which every Valley school wants in their own market. He seemed pretty funny and at times extremely entertaining and misinformed when he got on the anti-WSU rant.

People lose their jobs in radio all the time, Veritas, in any economy. It comes with the territory. Rush Limbaugh likes to talk about his being fired six times before finding his niche, and now he makes $50 million a year.

Somehow I don't think "The Door" Matt, as Chris Berman might call him, is a $50 Million Man -- but he'll end up somewhere, and he'll find someone other than Marshall to rant about. Sayonara to him.

Yep, agreed. I think a lot of it had to do with his negative views on Nebraska which shows how many in Omaha support UNL rather than CU. Regardless, CU is losing a pretty passionate supporter and he did seem to have a "homo erectus" for the Shockers.
