I always get nervous when I hear that something is a "done deal." I recall that years ago, WSU's hiring of Jim Valvano was supposedly a done deal, too, and I'm sure if I stopped to think about it I could cite other examples of deals that ended up actually being "one and done" instead.Originally posted by bloodgold
Deals like this are done when they're made and officially announced. So I guess I'm encouraged, and there's certainly reason to think the Shocks have the drawing power to get into one of the peripheral tournaments where your rank in terms of attendance is more eye-catching to the organizers than RPI rank is -- but I'll suspend my excitement until it's offficial.Comment

It discusses different "scenarios" with the post season tournaments and what you need to do. Just got that info from the ticket office."He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. Moose, if the Shocks get into a tournament, it won't be because of their record or their RPI rank (around 160th). It will be because of their drawing power and the money they can generate, all of which will happen only at Koch Arena. In other words, they'll get in because they get a home game.Comment
