Is there an ignore function for Shockernet? Not just for SF, but for all the posts that bring his posts up (Including this one)... The broken record is destroying a decent board...

I don't think I am better, and I am not trying to play, but it would be nice to go through a thread where you don't account for 60% of the posts... it's like being in a room where one person dominates all of the time, bandwidth and attention. Here is the crazy thing about the Valley games yesterday. There was much at stake. If we win and Bradley loses, we would have tied for 4th. However, if Drake pulls out that double OT win with Bradley, we would have been seeded 8th I think. Also, there was importance to how 1st place ended yesterday as well. This will be a hard year to use much logic for St. Louie because the teams ALL seem so close and able to beat anybody within the Valley on a given game.

What I am wondering is if the Valley can in any way slip 2 teams to the Dance? Do you think Creighton is even a lock or will only the winner at the tourney make it to the Big Dance?

It's not impossible for the Valley to get two, but CU and UNI would have to play a nail biter in the final game to even get consideration. Some other non-BCS conferences are stronger this year and there seems to be lots of chatter on radio and TV where commentators for digging for as many excuses as they can find to get as many undeserving BCS schools in as possible.

Creighton should already be in with all the games they one along with being in our conference and winning at least a share of the title. Its just BCS whining that keeps them out. Paying the conference back for 2006.

ABC - I was making one final plea to a board I used to go to for information and thoughtful discussion to make a turn for the better. I will always believe SF can have his opinion and he can state it on this board, but I have to read through 7 pages of a thread to get one or two useful nuggets of information. I know many long time posters on this board and almost all have brought him up (and responses like mine to be fair) with the similar thoughts & frustration.

I may not be a member that makes a positive contribution to the board, but I have noticed that some of the best and most insightful people have stopped posting. I just want to maximize my time - i gave up on valleytalk years ago and I am about to give up on this board.

To clarify - I do not want the board policed by any means, but there is a function on most boards that allow these conflicts to be neutralized (I assume some would gladly ignore me first). Without that function i can only hope we all show restraint at some point...

CU needs to get to the championship game to have much of a chance of getting in. With an RPI in the 60's, a couple of bad losses and I'm not sure they have any meaningful out of conferece wins, it's their only chance at an at-large.

Their RPI is actually hovering in the upper 30's right now. They have a nice win against Dayton and have won 10 in a row. 1 win in the Valley tourney and they're in.

While I'm not big on Lunardi, he does have CU as an at-large (last four in, 11 seed) and UNI in as the MVC auto-bid (13 seed). A few others have them in, as well.

One of the things to keep in mind is that should CU not win the tourney, the champ will push them one spot down in the selection process and potentially out of the bracket altogether.
