We finished tied for 5th. One game and only a few points from 4th.

Weren't there many who were absolutely besides themselves when some posters predicted a 4th place finish?

If a tie for 5th still gets us Thursday, then it's just as meaningless. It's a wash.

Im glad we tied for 5th, even tho are playing on Thursday, but more importantly i really like how this team is getting momentum for next year, because i think Next Year is really where we start to make our mark in the Marshall Plan and to be a real threat in the MVC.

If you look at how the team has played in the last few games on the road, it was starting to do the things you need to do to win on the road. They were staying in the games longer and longer, to the point in the SIU game where if Hawkins had nailed that wide open 3, they probably would have won.

Hopefully, these guys remember the lessons they have learned on the road so they can start winning road games early and often next year :)

Perhaps Royal should consider an ignore function. I've been wishing for one lately. I see I'm not the only one.

FSF has some crow to eat as well. I guaranteed the Shocks to beat SIU. Thus, it was my first and last miss of a guarantee. If I recall, HCGM was hoping for a 500 finish in the Valley and a win last night would have sealed that deal. The loss last night left a bad taste in our mouth and that includes our Coach. We let one slip through our fingers that was very winnable. Their big men outplayed us inside both games this year. Our bench had been playing well as of late as well, but not last night.

This was one strange year in the Valley. No way did we expect Northern Iowa to finish as strong as they did. As for us, our overall home record was 13-3 which was one of the best ever for us. However, we only win 1 road game in the Valley and 1 nuetral game. Toure' was a trooper during our home games and really struggled on the road as did our team play. However, reflecting back to last Season, we did make progress and we are a young team. Whew!!! What a roller coaster ride.

Mike Kennedy made the analogy of the contrast between the team a few Seasons ago. We started out like gangbusters and were in the public eye on a National scale (8th in the Nation) with some mammoth wins. However, soon we did a nose dive that was excruciating to witness. This Season, we were 0-6 in Valley play and made a very nice turn around from there. The critics were even silenced for a spell, scratching their heads as to how we could be beating such good teams at home. So now what? We take our show to the Lu. Can these young guns be consistent enough to make some racket at a nuetral site? Stay tuned!!!!!!!

If there were some crow to take in (which there isn't), but let's say there was hypothetically... the only person here that has room to shove it in my face would be FSF.

The ironic thing is the obsessors are the ones doing all the panting while FSF has kept it cool.
