I think she used to sit in front of me until my buddy's kid dropped a hot dog covered with mustard on her mink jacket. They moved after that season.

A physician called into a radio show and said:

I'm not holding it against you....7 minutes may mean the world at different times....but I promise you, on your death bed, you aren't going to say "Man I'm glad I got those extra 7 minutes of sleep that night instead of seeing Gregg's incredible hulk" or "Matt's game winner" or "Toure's game winner" or "Antoine's 360" or etc etc.....
Doc, not everyone has the great seats you have. My seats are up, up and away, so we have to let all the rows below us clear out. We are usually the last section to get down the stairs. It takes longer than 7 minutes, believe me.

Don't get me wrong, I RARELY leave early. The last time I did taught me a lesson the hard way. Two years ago, Creighton at home, overtime. My boss had called three times (he is a KU fan) as he was waiting for me to arrive. Last part of overtime, he called again, we were behind, so I told him I was on my way. Didn't want to leave, but you know how long the last 1 1/2 minutes of any close game or overtime can take. To make a long story shorter, I was halfway up the hill to the parking lot when the HUGE yell came and I turned around. I swear to you the roof of Koch Arena lifted at least 6 inches and then settled back down. I have kicked myself ever since for leaving early.

But I do understand the elderly wanting to get down the stairs before the crush starts and even parents with small children. I will never understand young men and women (some students I bet or at least recent grads) that leave early. Must want to get somewhere fast to do something more important.

It is not uncommon for me to have people come up to me after the game and thank me for my contributions to my section and my defiance towards all the lethargy that surrounds me.

That was neither witty or even remotely coherent. Just a vanilla effort that leaves everybody  .

And to answer an earlier ? I don't go to the game to see cheerleaders. But I certainly do enjoy them more than some kid just standing there so that I can see the back of the same sign game after game.
Are you talking about false yellow hair kid? I forget now what his sign says.

While we're on personalities at CKA, who thinks Ron Prince makes a better band director than football coach?

I hate to offer further speculation on the identity of the kid with the sign. I am afraid further notoriety might just encourage him. I prefer to go to sleep with ringing in my ears from the game, not visions of cardboard.

Bring a lighter and light his sign on fire when he looks away. That's what I used to do.
