Also, and it's been discussed before, the people who leave in the final minutes before the game is over or even decided. We had a 5 point lead over the #1 team in the valley and people were heading towards the exits.
If its a couple, you can use a line a KU buddy of mine has for those of the same ilk in his section at Allen Field House:
"The Cialis must have just kicked in"
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

It happens everywhere, not just here. I've talked to KU fans who say people head for the exits up there even in close games.
As for the annoying guy, I have one right behind me. He doesn't use foul language, but he complains about every play and every call. It's funny to watch the people in front of my halfway looking back during the games rolling their eyes. He gets pretty annoying after awhile.

My wife suffered a broken neck and a severe head injury some years ago in an auto accident. She prefers to walk down the steps with a minute left on the clock, because she is nervous about her balance, walking down the steps in a mass of people. She watches the end of the game in the concourse on the monitor, and waits for me by the door. Sorry if that offends some of you.........(no, I'm not)
pinstripers, that is a legitimate reason. Do you happen to sit in the upper realm of section 118? I ask because there is a couple that leaves just after the last media timeout or thereabouts just about every game, and consistency usually means a reason.

You have no idea why people leave early; there are a bajillion different reasons that would probably make you feel pretty stupid for saying that (like the one already posted).
I understand some people have good reasons for leaving early as pinstripers has pointed out. I apologize. I have had to watch the end of a game from the concourse so I could leave as soon as the game ended because I needed to be somewhere and the game was running long.
But I think if you are leaving early just to beat the traffic, you should stay til the end to show your appreciation to the team.
Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.
This used to irritate me to the nth degree for exactly the reasons that capnkirk states.
However, as I have aged and mellowed, I now understand and accept that having a majority of the fans not leave early, and having those same fans show their appreciation after the game ends is pretty darned good.
I sit near a couple of elderly ladies that always stay until the crowd has left and then they take an easy quiet stroll home.
If you are a big fan, it's fun to stay late and visit with the friends and family of the team, maybe get to meet and visit with one of the players, say hi to coach or Mrs. Marshall etc.....those are things that I feel many miss out on. I remember last year exchanging a greeting with Barry Hinson. Had I not stayed late I would have missed that chance and would be extremely sad that I didn't get to meet one of the nicest, friendly and honest coaches I have ever met.
Lastly, sometimes I want to get home as quickly as anyone. It NEVER takes me more than 7 minutes longer to get home when I leave early vs when I leave at the same time as most.
I'm not holding it against you....7 minutes may mean the world at different times....but I promise you, on your death bed, you aren't going to say "Man I'm glad I got those extra 7 minutes of sleep that night instead of seeing Gregg's incredible hulk" or "Matt's game winner" or "Toure's game winner" or "Antoine's 360" or etc etc.....
I am kind of sad right now. I know that guy is me, the one that yells the whole time. 119 row 17. Sorry for the........ What the crap am I saying, I will yell for the rest of my life at those games. That is what makes us shocker fans, that is why teams dont want to come here and play!!! :yahoo:

There's one of those guys in my section and it's quite annoying. Most of the time he has no clue what he's talking about. At the UNI game he may have had a friend or two with him as there were times people around him would basically repeat whatever he said. That just made it 3X more annoying than usual.

Dude yelling is okay!! THE GUY WE are talking about is the one who is doing play by play with himself right behind you all night long.
Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, and Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.
