Ramon Clemente met a stranger at the Terre Haute megacomplex today. ie, the food court at KMart. The man was obviously dressed in a disguise with dark glasses, overcoat and stocking cap. The man shared his vast knowledge of free-throw shooting. They talked over a cherry icee for hours. Finally Ramon saw that he needed to get to the Hulman Center STAT! As there would no doubt be dozens of people going to the game and traffic would be awful. As Ramon left, he turned around and asked, "Who are you anyway?". The man slurped the last of his icee, threw it in the trash, then turned around, took off his stocking cap to reveal the most perfect jeri curl hair man has ever seen. Ramon was in awe! The man replied, "Just someone who has been in your shoes." Good luck Ramon.

The rest is history.

Does anyone know how many charges have been called on Hawkins this year? Do they keep that stat? He HAS TO BE on pace for a national record.

Isn't a charging foul also counted as a turnover? So in the Prouty Ratings that I do, it's a double whammy on AJ.

The turnover (TO) affects his Total Offense formula and the personal foul (PF) affects his Possessions Gained formula.

He has to be averaging at least 2 a game, with 23 games played, that would be 46. He's definitely up in the Top 5.

My biggest gripe with it is that he still continues to do it, every freaking game, like the referee is going to magically ignore his out-of-control body going into the paint move.

I like his passion, but damn, the lack of control is so effing annoying.

Hawkins keeps doing the same thing every game. He needs to learn to hit a pull-up jumper off of the drive. That way the defender can't just plant in the lane and wait for the charge.

He is not a great shooter...if he is out of control like he usually is when he drives to the hole; he won't have a very good chance of making a pull-up J.

I don't think Hawkins is out of control as much as he seems to lack recognition of a situation.

80-90% of Hawkins' game is driving to the basket. He's going to be in more situations than any of our other players to charge. I've seen him be able to avoid the charge just as often, so he clearly has the control. This issue, as I see it, is between the ears.

If you want to talk about out of control, look no further than guards who drive the lane, pass off, but keep going right into a defender.
