Even a supreme effort might not be enough against the most talented team in the league.
They are 16-2....that's not chopped liver.
Playing their schedule, we would look intimidating schedule wise also. I don't see any Michigan St, G-Town, Texas Tech's, or TCU's on their schedule.
I do see Wright State, Alabama State, Houston Baptist, Southern Methodist, Nicholls State, UC Santa Barbara, Bowling Green, Morehead State, Central Michigan, and Illinois-Chicago.
Never mind...Illinois-Chicago is 7th in the Horizon League, and Southern Methodist is in 10th in C-USA. C-USA sent a team to the national championship game last year. I guess he is from the Bill Snyder school of scheduling.

Tim J refuses to play anybody in the non-con unless they play them at their place? This dude still thinks he's at KU. LOL, your a mid-major clown, you got to make some concessions and beef up your 200+RPI non-con SOS.
Turgeon did the same thing. I like that attitude. Why should we be treated like second class? If you think like a mid-major, then that's all you will ever be.

Perhaps the same effort as Saturday plus fewer turnovers and better than 70% FT percentage might do it. However as much as we'd all be thrilled if that happened, we might have more chance of a complete planetary allignment tonight...
They need to CLAIM the game tonight, and let the chips fall where they may. Make ISU earn every point they get and be glad they make it out of Koch Arena 'alive' as it were.
As others have said--we as fans need to make our presence felt as well.
Browsing the ISU message forum--as one might expect they are wrapped up in the standings right now--and all of the paranoid speculation that goes with being in the thick of a championship race...
We will have none of those distractions--fans or players. It won't be hard to take this game as it comes and focus JUST on the moment at hand. I have a feeling it will be a little tougher for the ISU players to keep focused on us and not look ahead to the next game... perhaps they'll underestimate us a bit? After all, as good as the Creighton game was--it was just one game.
Granted, I'd rather have to deal with the 'problems' that they have to deal with regarding the championship, but there are other ways to look at it too.
Again... we just need to CLAIM this game for our own. As you might guess--my new mantra for this team.
Ok Doc,you and Downtown better calm down as I will be attending my first game tonight and I will not tolerate any violence at the game.

Syracuse, Michigan State, I'm sure there's a lot more.
We finally win our first MVC game and now everyone feels this program has turned the corner and will start playing like the 4th to 6th best team in the MVC. Hardly. This team will be competitive tonight but will not win against a more athletic team.
Please Homers, don't resort back in predicting Shocker wins 99 percent of the time. On a positive note, I am encouraged by how well we played against CU and hope we do build upon the win.

Turg did soften a little on his stance in the last couple of years and took some one and dones, but for the most part, he insisted on equal games. If there are "alot" more, I'd like to know what they are?

Nope. We did not get return games from Syracuse and Michigan State. Tim J says he won't schedule any team that won't play them at their place. That is a very big stance and he hasn't figured out he is not at KU anymore. Sure, back in the day we got KSU and OSU to play us here, that won't happen again. Recently, we have gotten Providence to do a 1 for 1, they won't make that mistake again either.
Texas Tech and LSU are the only BCS teams I can think of coming to our place in the future and I am thankful for that. Tim J needs to revisit his stubborn stance or it will cost him tourney selection time. Mark T knew it, he hasn't figured it out yet I guess.
I don't think it is just Jank "forgetting he is not at KU anymore." It is also the AD's philosophy to not do 1 for none games. ISU had Cincy and St. John's in the last 3 or 4 years in Redbird Arena and they were return games. Both coaches said they would never do it again. They both tried to buy their way out of the return game as well... and the AD denied the request...
Jank has calmed down on his stance for not doing 2 for 1's... he used to say he wouldnt do that either... but he hasn't mentioned that recently... just the fact that he will not do 1 for none's is all he AND the AD stress now...
