Clevin is the best PG we've got right now. He has a shooters mentality but is effective at getting us into the offense and creating for others as well. He's also one of the few that can get a shot off by using on ball screens properly.

I don't think we can win four consecutive shootouts no matter how good our guards are draining the nets.

We're in agreement on "what movement?". However, players moving without the ball and setting off-ball pics have little to do with the PG except to make his life a little easier by not having to force passes. If AJ is not going to step up and take a leadership role on this squad - vocal, energy, and scoring - we need our next best threats from the outside in the lineup. This, along with good movement, should open things up, make passing and scoring easier. I know it sounds simple, but it is. Why? Because we're not doing the simple and basic things.

If I'm not mistaken, no team seeded 7-10 has ever even made it to the championship game, let alone won it.
If we win our first game and are competitive in the 2nd one, I'll be content with the effort.

I just think Toure' could get others involved more and we need that right now. I also think Toure' would be better down the court in transition. I don't mean after a made shot. I mean off a rebound. I think Toure' has better court vision and awareness to get the ball to players down the court before the defense gets back and sets up.
By no means do I think Clevin is a bad pg I just think he would be a more effective sg at the moment. I don't think we are maximizing our strengths and minimizing our weaknesses with our 1-2 currently. Switch them and I think you maximize each players strengths and minimize each players weaknesses.

With the exception of maybe a Larry Bird (not a PG), I don't believe the best PG out there is going to get you very far unless the rest of the team is willing to do their part. How does Murry at PG get the others to move any different than if he's playing SG or SF once the ball is in his hands?

I agree. But many a conference tourney has been won by a team getting hot at the right time. Florida A&M was what, 11-20 a couple years ago and played the #1 seed tight for like 30 mins before losing by less than 20.
As the Valley gets better and deeper, it is bound to happen, and many a team in the Valley, including us, are capable of putting 4 wins together.
While we are off, we are not as far off as many think we are. We've shown we can defend and rebound against a couple of the best teams in the country, and shown we can shoot 45-50% FG and over 40% 3PG. If those somehow, some way, in some universe come together, I'll take us against any team in the Valley.
