Yes this game was a stinker last night. But I believe there is a switch with many of the players that can turn the hustle & effort on & off. Last night, the whole team was off.

Just remember, Missouri State still has to come here. Maybe by then, some of the players will have it figured out.

I don't know why we just don't make some of you the Head Coach. Marshall's first full year and you're ready to run him out of town.

Do we stink right now? Absolutely! Everyone involved with the program, coaches, players, fans (diehards and bandwagoners, optimists and shockerfever types) all need to find ways to improve their roles and build up each other.

This team is playing with zero confidence and desire right now. So let's kick them when their down and hope that by continually kicking them and telling them how pathetic they are that they will somehow get better.

Help is on the way. The freshman class has shown promise, next years class looks to be promising as well, EO and Blair are on the horizon, and each game we lose will just make the wins taste that much sweeter when they come.

Losers quit or whine about how bad things are. Winners get up, even when things are bad and keep fighting and try to build up what they have to work with, rather than tear down what little is there. Patience, Patience, Patience. The sweet taste of victory will return, and the Roundhouse will be rockin again.

I wondered how long it would take before someone said "if you're so smart why don't you be the coach" nonsense. If you paid a doctor $10,000 to take out your appendix and he amputated your leg, would you be satisfied? Would you just say, "well, I couldn't have done it any better."?

The guy gets paid $750k to do the job better than this. That's the complaint from some folks, and I can't blame them. Do they have to be the next head coach to complain?

Sure they have a right to complain. It just puts you in this category of person. :cry:

People who don't get what they pay for are crybabies?! Awesome! The next time someone comes back to the Arby's drive through to complain that you screwed their order up, why don't you try that little gem out on them? I'm sure they'll feel appropriately shamed for complaining.

What is it in terms of Gregg Marshall did YOU actually pay for? To use your analogy of Arby's, if you don't like the product or service don't go back. If the product or service is poor and you are dissatisfied but keep returning, what does that say about you?

I just can't understand how you can make this statement. You suggest that not only should we accept the poor outcome, we should shut up about it!

Sure, the boosters could jump ship and give money and allegiance to another university, but who wants to do that? Everyone here has an allegiance to our alma mater.

I was amazed at how little effort I saw last night from the majority of players. It was brutal and absolutely unacceptable. It's one thing to lose. But to lose while not trying is BS.

I think you could let the players coach themselves and get 4 wins in 24 tries.

The 'goal' this year was to be at .500, some posters are now hoping that for next year. Being at, at least .500, is a reasonable expectation given the money and support that WSU has.

I actually thought up a new theory about GG's early success at Winthrop and his struggles at WSU.

I think GG has developed his current NASA/CIA/FBI style of offense over time at Winthrop, slowly tweaking it as the years and new classes came in. When he took over Winthrop he preached hard nose defense and maximum intensity. Hell, nobody cared about basketball when he got there so there was no room but to go up.

Now he comes to Wichita State with his own "secret" offensive style created over a 7-9 year period and it is simply too complex to integrate right away and all at once.

Why not just get back to fundamentals like crisp passing, layups, rebounds and boxouts, screens, jumpshots, freethrows, and.. HAVING FUN! These players look burnt to a crisp.

Let's lose the next game but lets lose it looking happy. Get the dunks going again, don't kill them if they miss a defensive assignment. Just get an offensive flowing going.. leave the damn players in the game for more than 30 seconds without chewing their asses off.

You disqualified yourself there SF? You did originally say 6th in early December? So later in Dec. you did not like that prediction so you changed it to 8th before the Valley race. No problem. However, did you not know basketball in early December when you said 6th---but now like to rub it in most every post about others who orginally predicted 4th on the same thread called "MVC 3 weeks in" on page 6? Hmmmm! We are now in last place and have not won a Valley game. Thus, who knew this would happen? Did you? Maybe now with such vast hindsight, you could also now pick us 9th or 10th? You seem to really know basketball after the fact? Hmmmmm!!!

Are you really that stupid? You still don't know the difference in my preseason prediction of 8th place and a weekly ranking I gave us at 6?

The thing is he was giving me a pretty hard time for picking us 8th. I said I was just being realistic and I didn't wanna set myself up for disappointment. Unfortunately, I was proved right.

He can say we're gonna win the league every year.. idc. But when he starts it up with me, I'm gonna finish it.

And yet after all we've been through, he still can't accept the reality of the whole situation.
