My only intent was to try and keep things real with my fellow Shocker fans. I'm not asking for people to give me ticker-tape parades and beds of roses for what I've said. I just wanted to know why is it when I say a realistic, but some would say 'negative' thing about our situation it's looked upon as a mortal sin, but when others start pitching in, it's perfectly acceptable? Is it because the usual fair-weather sunshine-pumping suspects are absent from the board and are not here to call me out? I don't get it. I'm sorry my sneaky interpretations proved to be right..

We don't have a team leader...i.e. Cousinard/Braeuer etc. Only when we have a player who has been thru the program 4 years will we truly have a leader. Will we have to wait for Durley or Hatch to become that leader if they are here that long? Will we have to wait for one of the freshmen to become seniors? Until then, we won't have that one person on the team to kick the others in the pants to get them going. Dire need of a team leader.

Excuse me for introducing something logical into the discussion.

1. Stutz has seen how the coaches treat the players.
2. Stutz has seen the coaching staff's reaction to losses and the effects on players.
3. Johnny Coy knows Stutz.
4. Coy checked with Stutz on the situations at WSU.
5. Coy decided that's what he wanted.

Chances are good the Coy family checked with Stutz' family, since Garrett's Dad coaches in the KC area.

There are some problems on the team right now. If the problems were internal to the program, I don't think Johnny would have missed that with all the sources the family had for checking out the program.

This seems like the "after-Vegas" syndrome 2 years ago. There were off-court issues that affected the play on the court. I'm confident we never knew all of them - and that's the way it should be.

I've actually seen how the basic motion offense is supposed to work - and I've seen that in games I've watched. There are only 3 or 4 guys on the team actually running it and they don't always execute real well. The rest of the team is sort of free-styling the offense. Some players trying and some playing street ball (and I'm not talking about Clemente) doesn't create great team chemistry.

Clemente may have decided, before the fans decided, that there wasn't much point in hoping for many wins this year.

I hate losing, but I can live with it. What I can't take is the lack of effort and the way some of the players seem to give up.

It's one thing to lose, but to continuously lose and show no signs of improvement is not acceptable.
