I really, really doubt Ramon loses a starting role over a single flat game. That would be silly.
It hasn't been 1 flat game. In the 4 MVC games, he's scored 1, 6, 0, and 4 points.
He's been a monster on the boards in pretty much all those games though. He is the only real defensive spark, no matter how low his scoring is. When you got a guy getting more boards than most players are getting in points, it's unlikely you will see him benched.
Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
I wouldn't necessarily call it a "benching" if it does happen. Mantas gives more scoring, good screening, and has the height to dump a pass from the high to the low post. Ramon would be more of a defensive and rebounding spark coming off the bench IMO.
Lineup changes occur sometimes just to get the most out of what we have; it doesn't mean someone is being punished by coming off the bench. Whatever changes there are, we are mainly STILL searching for the right combinations.
Troy Mack was a liability for 3 years, but he was all we had, so he played.
His 4th year, he was a threat for a double-double every night.
Paul Miller was called "Fifi" even into his Sr year. The criticisms of Miller were soft on D, not aggressive to the hoop, bad hands, not aggressive around the hoop.
If there had been another post player at WSU in Miller's So year, I doubt many fans would have been real upset if Miller left WSU "for personal reasons".
Miller had a pretty good Sr year.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades. We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
