There is absolutely no chance KU will be in Wichita any time soon. It's fun to think about, though.

I agree that it would be cool but also that it won't happen. If history was a little different then maybe.

KU did come down to open the roundhouse after all and they hadn't played in forever then too.

And wasn't it Boston College that just beat North Carolina?

Let's win an MVC game, then worry about who's on or not on our non conference schedule....

Until we have a competitive team, I would not worry about it, besides Aldrich would eat our lunch right now. (Stutz needs to learn to play like Aldrich).

As a KU alum who also went to WSU, I have to say that the garbage that is KU's refusal to even consider scheduling WSU is one more reason why I'm a much bigger KU football fan than basketball. I truly believe that the powers that be (aka the big money donors propping up Lew and much of the Athletic Dept) know that KU acting like Wichita State doesn't exist annoys WSU fans, therefore it must be a good thing. I honestly can't think of any other reason they won't play the Shox. KU has played Siena, Coppin State, Kent State, UMKC, Jackson State, Albany, and the powerhouse that is Florida Gulf Coast this season alone, yet scheduling WSU is a "lose-lose." It's a GD joke, and frankly I regard it as an insult to the entire Wichita area, which produces thousands and thousands of KU alumni, many of whom are like me in that they started off at WSU and transferred, and would love to see their two schools face off.

As for KSU opening Intrust: if they go ahead with it, in the words of the philosopher/poet Mike Tyson, I tip my hand to them. And if KU ever does come a-calling in Wichita, Shox fans and the staff and administration would be nuts to want to play them in Intrust. I want that game in the Roundhouse with 99% frenzied Shox fans, not 50/50 split with d-bag frontrunner KU fans who've never even set foot in Larry.

Sorry for the rant; we were just talking about this very subject during the game and it gets me going everytime.

I've tested these waters myself not so long ago on this board and have come to the conclusion that the most likely scenario for a match up (outside of the NCAA tournament) will not occur until the teams meet in the tournament itself. If it's a competitive game, it would be possible that KU would settle for a game in Intrust, but definitely not Koch.

However, if the Shox were to win said fantasy match-up tournament game a home and home might be REMOTELY possible, as the KU backers would want some revenge. If the home and home didn't happen, Intrust would become the place for the rematch because I doubt that the equivalent KC venue would throw the money at it Intrust would in trying to get the game there.

I don't care how bad or good either team is. They should be playing each other every year.

Never happen. What is the upside for KU? They do not need the money. If they win they were supposed to win. If they lose, well, the horror, the horror. They will never play WSU except in the NCAA's.
