Name the last WSU basketball team to sign a decent city league player? HA Tony Jones from North? HA Probably Darren Williams--
Like I have said over 50 times on this board, WSU will not completely turn around their program until they keep their players at home.

What's even more amusing is that Matt Braeuer's home town of Belton is closer to Waco than are any of the cities listed on the Baylor roster above. Of course, maybe that means the Shocks need to recruit more in Wichita and less within 50 miles of Waco. But Turgeon did have some success with his Texas guys; and his predecessor, who landed a fairly noteworthy Wichita player in Maurice Evans, lasted only a little longer here than Mo did. So I'll trust Marshall and his staff to handle City League recruiting with the appropriate degree of attention.

Lawboy got owned pretty good in this thread. He needs to learn to do some research before he goes out, trying to be funny and smart, and starting a moronic thread like the one here..
Yes Lawboy, the WSU program is gonna drop off the face of the earth... and the whole reason for it is the scheduling of one Friday night home game a year.
Your Baylor CC education is doing wonders..Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Gardner Webb is not the kind of program that you dictate your terms to. If they say we're playing on Monday at 8 AM, you better pack the roundhouse in your jammies. That's the kind of program Gardner Webb is. When Gardner Webb speaks, people listen."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

G-W is playing KSU Sunday (? I think). I'm going to make a wild guess here. G-W offered a game to WSU at less than the normal guarantee payout if they could make one trip to Kansas, reduce their travel costs, and have a rest day in between games.
Guarantee games are getting more expensive. Getting a one-and-done is pricey. If a WSU was shopping for bargains and trying to save some money for the Athletic Department, then the team coming in can dictate some terms. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

In case you missed it, Baylor was not the point of this thread. Keep ignoring the truth--WSU will never turn it around until they keep the Wichita boyz at home.
If you want to turn it into a Baylor thread, I am fine with that. Please do not start talking NCAA tourney stuff though---Baylor has been to the tourney exactly the same amount of times as WSU has in in the last 15 years.
My point is not to rip WSU--I root for them, but please use common sense when posting. The last time WSU was great was when they kept City League talent at home.
Eck gets more commits out of the city league than WSU.

You're a trolling idiot. You bring zero to the table. Now go back to your hole in the ground and wait for Baylor to win an actual tourney game.
You got absolutely demoralized with this thread.Deuces Valley.

Lawman,
I'm usually with you on a number of topics, but you titled this thread focused on WSU playing a Friday night game. You may be trying to turn this into a recruiting issue, but you started it. Stick to the topic.
Scheduling is not a fun job for GM or the Athletic Dept on the whole. Sometimes you have to work a game in when your counterpart can oblige, especially when they are the one and done variety. That's what happened with G-W.
End of story. 8)Above all, make the right call.

Shock fever--Relax--You are still probably wearing your Battle of New Orleans T-shirt--2003-2006 were decent years with one exciting year--they went to the sweet 16. Did they build on that? No--The coach left for the Big 12--I do not blame him. Turg got the town excited.
Shock Ref--I understand your post, but my Friday night game thread was tilted towards recruiting.
Agree with you on the scheduling part--GM cannot help it, but file it away.

lol.. you act like a Sweet 16 is nothing special. Of course you wouldn't know anything about the Sweet 16 being a Baylor fan and all.
I think they've built off it pretty well. They got into the Top 10 in the country (Has Baylor even been ranked in the Top 20 ever?) What do you think is gonna happen during a coaching change? You think things are gonna be hunky-dory?
Your knowledge in WSU and athletics in general has a lot left to be desired. You should consider hiring help with all the $$$ you bring in.Deuces Valley.
