Considering the staff can get out to just about any other Tue/Fri game, one is meaningless. And if it were THAT important to have one there, one of the assistants could miss the Shocker game.
Shame on KU for playing this past Tuesday and not being able to watch Frankamp with Marshall and Martin....

Sub, I'm with you. I haven't been apart of this board very long, so this is the first time seeing this thread and the opinions attached to it. 1972 & watcher also bring great thoughts to this discussion. It is one Friday night. Because these great players are in our own backyard, does one night missing them really matter. Are the GWAL players we are recruiting really that shallow and short-sideded thinkers...I think not. Please, let's move on to topics that actually have merit talking about.
Lawmaker, my question is what do you consider turning the program around ?
We are picked to win the Valley.
All of the players appear to be doing well academically
No players in trouble with the law.
No players have beat up their girlfriend
No players have murdered anyone.
A turn around at this point would not make sense. We have never been and don't want to go thru what school's like Baylor have.
The city league is exceptionally talented right now....it hasn't been like this since the late 70's - early 80's (when we landed most of the studs). IMHO, we haven't "missed" on anyone that would have improved this year's team.
Whether this topic is you showing legit concern for our beloved Shocks or just another one of you condescending post is the real question.
What City League players have we wanted that we didn't get?
We just signed Wessel.
Someone can refresh my memory, but I can only think of Jordan Cyphers as a CL player we wanted but didn't get. I guess we could add Brandon Polk and Taj Gray, but Steve Eck ****ed that all up.
The CL has been producing Div 1 players, but not all have even been at the level of WSU/the MVC.
Is there a list of all of the Div 1 players from the City League over the last 10 years?

Lawkid...if you want to know the answer to that quesiton go ask your buddies on the Baylor board. I will say Baylor has had quite the turnaround, no players have killed anyone lateley.
Recruits can take as many unofficial visits to schools as they like. The one thing I'm sure a school can do for them on an unofficial is to give them a couple of tickets to a game.

City League has the best talent it has had in a long long time and instead of our coaches watching recruits in action they have to coach a game.
Any day but Friday.
The City League players play at least 2 games a week. I doubt missing one to coach a game is going to skew the final analysis of a kid. If they wanted, they could send an intern to the game with a camera and watch on saturday afternoon. Why this is even being discussed during a time where everyone has a video camera in their pocket is confusing to me. Coaches don't HAVE to be at every game a kid plays. If that was the case, we'd be able to recruit from about 6 schools.
