      • I've gotta agree with the Dr on this one, even as frustrating as it was to battle back then lose this one. Not predicting a conference title or anything, but this team I think will be clicking sometime in January.

I don't have DirectTV, will the usual watering holes have Monday's game?

        • MOAR second half please

Seriously. Piss poor effort first half. Outstanding effort in the second.

We lost and I feel content with that.

          On to TCU

As long as he knows how to run around defenders, yes.

            • AJ had a couple nice 3's I believe too. That's the AJ we need...one that can bring more to the table. Now if he can do it EVERY game....

                • Way to go AJ! I keep pulling for him, but up to this point had just gotten more and more off the AJ bandwagon. I'm now more on the bandwagon--of course he needs to be a consistent 'player' but I was encouraged!

His confidence should be better against TCU, and hopefully he can build on it.

Like others have said--while losing is bad, and losing one like this is really bad, things are setting up well for our mid-late season.

                  At least I hope so.

                  • I will say, while not a HOSTILE environment for the majority of the game it was still their first true road test. So I guess that does make the comeback that much more impressive.

But I'm still sick of close losses LOL. I'm sure we'll pull out our share in the Valley though. Valley has a couple good shooters, but not like their 2 guards.....good LORD LOL.

And the crowd did start to get loud towords the end and we kept getting closer and closer until we tied it. So I think we'll end up doing fine on the road as the season progresses.

                    • And I think we are just going to have to be used to not having much of an offensive presence in the post...at least for a little bit. Yes we have guys that can score, so defenses will still have to stay true. But just no one that can be real consistent yet.

I'm ok with being a guard oriented team though, as long as we have guys that can do more than just shoot the 3 pointer since they won't ALWAYS go in. And tonight when we made our comeback we had guards that were creating their own shot and getting to the basket...and FINISHING. If we can continue to attack the basket like that then we can still be successful even if we don't have a dominate post player.

                      • I can't see the moral victory here. We played like crap in the opening half, and the Raiders sleepwalked thru the second half. Yeah we played much better in the second half, but...

                        • I'd be happy for this year if we could have enough of a post presence to keep the other team honest on defense. I think that is still possible with GS this year, though I don't expect him to be a world beater. Yet.

As for the team in general, if we could figure out how to get a good even THIRTY minutes, let alone 40, Katie, bar the door!

                          • One positive is the team showed they could take a licking (and I don't mean the 1st half) and keep on ticking.

I am sure HCGM more than questioned the team's manhood at halftime.
Some guys would just wilt at the the blasting I'm sure they absorbed during halftime. Nice to see the guys man-up and respond in positive fashion.

                            • One thing is for sure--it's not a lack of buying in to HCGM's system. They buy in. They just need to figure out that it requires 40 minutes of effort--or at least 30, and sucking it up no matter how tired or jet-lagged or whatever you are.

I'm hoping they're as smart a team as I think they are... lessons are being learned.

Okay. We played a BCS squad on the road in which the arena was filled at most at half capacity, no crowd to contend with and we can't take advantage of that? This Tech team was not very big down low so I was hoping our lack of an inside game would improve and take advantage of this situation. Nope, especially in the first half where it was non-existent....again.

TT made the mistake of thinking the game was all but wrapped up and sleepwalked in the second half. Thanks for that, we made the game close.

Gotta like Clemente, Murry and Durley going 7 for 27 from the field and 0 fer from the 3 point line too. That's great production from three of our five starters. How's that for being negative?
