      Weren't any.
BFD...no so long ago WSU actually sent someone to the Olympics as a legit 800M medal contender. Don’t get me wrong it would be great to see any native Kansan win a medal but Smith barely met the provisional time. Chances are it’ll be one prelim race and out.

Here we go. It may be August but just one feline from the North chimes in and the board comes alive.
The real deal will be when this "scrimmage" takes place. There will be more lurkers in and around Koch than at a Britney Spears public wardrobe change. 8)
Above all, make the right call.

You know athletics are getting thin up in Manhattan, when the line of smack devolves to horses, the Olympics, and a club sport supported by WSU that most of us could care less about.

And yes, one could consider the Manhattan area as scenic... that is if you've never left the state of Kansas.

I just wish we could get the press that a monolith like K-State gets. I mean, recently I was lazily watching the History Channel, and lo-and-behold that fine institution was featured briefly in the show. It was the food sciences department complete with a few rather overweight student specimens, a faculty member with a Ph.D. in Food Sciences (who knew?), and a gaggle of hair nets. They were explaining the fascinating intricacies of yeast fermentation in bread. Chalk it down as one of the many opportunities I missed by not attending Kansas' very own Ivy League equivalent.

          BTW...

Engineering School R&D Expenditures FY 2005:

          WSU: $28,691,000
The Best Engineering School Evar, a.k.a.- K-State: $17,634,000

          Suck it...

Just out of curiousity, what players will K-State have this coming year?

Since Garrett Stutz rejected them they went and got Herrera from Hutch juco, who IIRC averaged just over 6 points a game.

You need to check some facts before you open your cake hole.

"Former Wichita State standout Randy Lewis will be competing for his native Grenada in the triple jump at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

In 2008, Lewis owns the fourth best mark in the world with a leap of 17.49 meters (57-4 3/4), making him a serious medal threat."

Alas, he didn't qualify for the final, which is Thursday. The top 12 qualify and he was 13th.

                Owned.

ABC is quite entertaining when he gets on a roll. Thanks for the laugh!

I dunno, guys. K-State serves a purpose. For example, I've found that if you put a KSU sticker on your car you get to park in all the handicapped spots.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Interesting Story regarding Christian and Horses.

Posted here to show the battle (ruptured appendix/hospital time) he actually went through just to get to the trials.

Christian finished 4th in his heat in 1:48.20 but when one reads the story posted above it is amazing that he made the team at all. I'm sure he'll be back for the Games in London. Only one American advanced to the next round.

As far as being owned, KSU has several athletes in the Games representing other countries and assistant coach Tom Pappas is a legitimate medal hopeful in the decathalon.

As far as the triple jump goes I hope everyone here knows that the Olympic record is held by Kansas State graduate Kenny Harrison who won gold in Atlanta 1996. But it's good to know WSU had a Grenadan in the TJ this year.

                              Isn't this basketball discussion fun?

Not only did you make yourself look like a moron when first posting this topic, you capitalized on your idiocy by saying something that wasn't true about Wichita State and the Olympics.

It is indeed fun watching you trip all over yourself. Keep it up! You're representing well!
