  • J-Mart on possibility of KSU/WheatShocker scrimmage

We played Marquette the last couple of years in our scrimmage which I think was a 2 year contract so maybe this would be too with one in DooDah and one in Manhappiness. Be warned that little if any real information is allowed to leak out of these scrimmages per NCAA rule so don't get your hopes up
    regarding any "bragging rights".

Maybe if you weren't so busy spelling out Wheatshockers, Doodah, or 'Manhappiness'? (Is that somewhere over the rainbow?), then you would've already known that this information had already been leaked on this site.

    ... No really, deuces.

Sorry I thought those here might like having some confirmation of the rumor from another source.

      My bad.

Have you really never heard Manhattan referred to as "Manhappiness" before?
You really should get out of Wichita from time to time. Some parts of Kansas are actually scenic.

      Unlike DooDah.

Oh, I've heard of it. It just wreaks of the 'g' word.

FYI, the source you got your information from, oddly enough, is from the same newspaper the source first quoted in here is from.

        You're too easy.

I've heard it called the Big Horse Apple - apparently in reference to KSU's fine equestrian team.

"Wreaks"? I believe the word you want is "reeks".

Um equestrian is, like polo, a sport that has traditionlly been an "upperclass" sport. You may have seen it contested in the Olympics.

But WSU has bowling which fits in so well with Wichita.

Ya, I got lazy on that one.

Sounds like we got a real life KSU equestrian fan in here, and here I thought that was just a metaphor.

Of course, true upper-crust schools have won an NCAA national championship in something during the course of their history.

K-State? Uh, no. Nadda. Nothing. Ever. Never. Ever.

They do sell out their women's basketball games though. You gotta give em that.

They might sell out a couple of games. Heck, WSU even "sold out" a game last season.

Your other source being the Eagle? Like the one Paul S works for, that J-Mart quotes in his blog entry?

There's a 60+ year old entrant in Olympic equestrian this year.

There's probably not any other sport where you can maintain the athleticism required to qualify for the Olympics into your 60's.

KSU is the only school I know of that when someone says, "They got some horses" - they mean real actual horses.

Now that Beasley is gone and Snyder is retired, the only studs in KSU's athletic programs are out in a pasture nibbling on grass.

No studs left at KSU? Christian Smith runs in the 800 tomorrow and is the only native Kansan on the US Olympic team. I looked for all the WSU athletes on the team.

                          Weren't any.

Are you seriously trying to compare Manhattan to Wichita?

Christian Smith got smart and left K-State.

You need to check some facts before you open your cake hole.

"Former Wichita State standout Randy Lewis will be competing for his native Grenada in the triple jump at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

In 2008, Lewis owns the fourth best mark in the world with a leap of 17.49 meters (57-4 3/4), making him a serious medal threat."

Alas, he didn't qualify for the final, which is Thursday. The top 12 qualify and he was 13th.
