I have heard from at least a dozen coaches at the college and JC level that players are routinely placed at schools and wind up there. I think Smithson has talked about it on his radio show on several occasions. I think that "pipeline" is a significant source of recruiting for JCs, and the coaches are not inclined to bite the hand that feeds them, if they can help it.
