I think HCGM allows WP to stay until Orukpe shows up and I think Wendell knows that. If we sign one more player (international or US) no moves need to be made until EO lands at ICT. It will really get interesting if 2 of the 6 offers he has out decide on WSU.

which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

      Trop,

I believe he said it while talking about the day before. I think he said at 11 he made a phone call to a guy about an international recruit.

I agree that he probably would have said "about Orukpe", seeing as he said they were going to go through the process one more time.

I picture a 6'10 guy that shoots 45% from 3, and blocks 4 shots a game inside. Not very high expectations....

Yeah, I'd even be satisfied with a guy like the Magic's Turkoglu.

I think it would be interesting to hear HCGM's ideas on how, as a head coach, you balance doing whats best for the team long term vs. reciprocating a players dedication to the organization.

Case in point: the situation with WP. I have been a WP supporter but at the same time I'm not blind. He just wasn't cutting it in the new system and a change had to be made. Just how difficult would it be to make that decision to let a guy go after 3 years of hard work and dedication? I would imagine it is even more difficult for a coach to let a player go who he had recruited.
I suspect the ball is in Wendell's court. I'm imagine HCGM has told WP what his likely role will be, and it's up to WP to decide what he wants to do.

I don't have any facts to back that up, but just what I think is going on.

My impression is that if WP wanted to be part of the team, he would be working out with the team. It has been reported by a couple people that he is not currently doing that.

I suppose Chop Tang might be considered an international recruit.

Mute point. He has signed with Wisconsin-Green Bay.
