  • McDuffie out until Mid-December

Per Kunkel, McDuffie has a stress fracture and is out until mid-December. Likely doesn't need surgery.

Yeah I saw him walking out of the tunnel before the State of the American pep rally. Crutches and a walking boot. Couldn't tell who it was, but knew it wasn't good news.
Three things in life are constant- death, taxes, and Creighton losing in the first weekend of the tournament.

    AAC or Bust!

      Ugh.

Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

Mid December would put him at about the start of conference play. That would make him miss the midseason tournament, Baylor, and the Oklahomas most notably. And I was naive enough to think our streak of terrible midseason tournament luck would come to an end. Will be interesting to see who steps up.

Rod's odds of a RS just went from slim to none.

Thankfully we have ZB there. Might make mean no red shirt for R Brown though

Heard about this earlier in the day. Was waiting to see if more came out, hoping it wouldn't be confirmed.

Seems like if there was a national championship in players getting beat to crap in practice before the season even starts, there's a solid chance we'd be in the running for the natty.

Or are least it sure feels that way.

While it sounds silly to say McDuffie is replaceable, we do have pretty sweet depth in the position he plays. This isn't like losing Shamet IMO.

Dang, hope for speedy recovery and coming back better than ever for Markis. Next man up! Might give CJ a chance to show his stuff whenever Brown needs a breather.

Does any other program have the same history with foot fractures, stress or otherwise, that we do? Seems unusually high. Feel bad for Markis and the team. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Win or lose the early games..... a guy like McDuffie was going to be pushed and would have benefited from it. This sucks.

The basketball Gods are doing everything to derail the great year we are about to have.

Kunkel just called out that "no one will lose their redshirt year due to the injury "

It does open up the shift of Kelly from 6 man to starting PF. Willis will shift from part time C to full time PF. Mitgaard becomes the third center. R Brown and Keyser will battle to back up Z Brown.
