This was my take as well. Connor for 3 with 12:37 to play and they never look back.

I root for the implosion of the Big 12 and when the implosion happens I will enjoy watching the Beakers struggle for membership in a conference comparable to the American.
KU will be the B1G. They understand the upcoming implosion, thus are investing $300m in the football program. It's KSU that will wind up in the MWC. KSU is one retirement away from being the worst team in the B12. KSU, regardless of the Snyder success does not have a national brand in anything.

Or when WSU built a medical school from scratch (at 9th and 135) and just as they were ready to apply for accreditation, KU claimed that there could only be one college with a medical program and just plain confiscated WSU's medical school.

Or when Roy Williams (when he coached at KU) turned WSU in to the NCAA for recruiting violations when Maurice Evans came to play at WSU. Because if a recruit chose WSU over KU, surely WSU had cheated. And that was all the evidence he had or needed for the NCAA to send two guys down to WSU and spend a couple weeks digging through EVERYTHING looking for the slightest infraction. They found a practice that had run 20 minutes past the time allowed.

KU, the school itself, has been treating WSU like we belong in a group with Friends and Kansas Newman, but certainly not in any group they're associated with. KU fans have insulted and disrespected us for years. KU's players? Kelly Oubre was so "concerned" about playing WSU in the NCAA's a few years ago, that he told a reporter that he slept through WSU's game instead of watching it. In the game, Zach Brown clowned him on a loose ball and got a SC-top-10 type breakaway dunk.

When we've been disrespected, insulted, and looked down on for so long - pretty much forever - we push back.
Hey Aargh,mini-beaker wants evidence. Here is some first hand knowledge for his consideration: I go back maybe as far as you do with WSU basketball. When I was about six or seven years old my mother and father took me to the Forum downtown to see the Harlem Globetrotters. The first game was a WSU game. Johnny friedersdorf was the star of WSU as I remember. Then I spent considerable time with my ear in a free-standing Philco radio listening to the Shockers in the Cleo Littleton area. Saw Oscar in The Roundhouse when I was in high school. In around 1995, KU tried to tear down Wichita State's football stadium. I know, I was the only speaker to save the stadium speaking before Gus Bogina's house committee to vote on the authorization. There were seven other speakers, all KU types, speaking to tear down our Stadium. Because of the monopolistic control of the Board of Regents by KU that you identified, a couple of years later I wrote the language for the bill to de-pack the Board of Regents. It took two years, but a little group of us setup 31 shocker black and gold groups around the state covering 100 of 125 house districts and all 40 Senate districts, and got a bill pass to de-pack the Board of Regents. We got 92 votes in the house and 31 of 40 in the Senate. The nine Senators who voted against the bill in the Senate, we're all KU graduates. For 35 years before the bill, KU had averaged 4.453 alumni members on the nine-member Board of Regents, while for the same time period WSU had five members on the Board, total. When WSU and president Corbin were trying to get in the into the state system in the 1964 - 65 timeframe, it was KU fighting against it tooth-and-nail every step of the way. The story is documented by a little black book entitled "An Act of Faith", published by WSU. Then there is Steve Morgan, KU undergraduate and KU law school graduate, who for 20 years headed the infraction Committee of the NCAA. Steve decided the Ozell Jones case when he should have recused himself. For the unpardonable sin of receiving a used coat in the winter time, being from Southern California, Ozell received the worst of five possible penalties from Morgan, and was found to be immediately ineligible and further required to transfer or lose a Year's eligibility. And this decision occurred two games before we beat KU without Ozell, our 7 foot center, in the Battle of New Orleans in 1981. I could go on with other KU malfeasance for mini-beaker, like for example, KU's Greg Dreiling involvement, but you get the point.

For being an otherwise helpful poster, I don't really understand the rude post. As stated before, I don't know anything about this stuff...and I would like to. But please, continue being rude.

Even with his cluelessness regarding the frailness of the B12? Anybody who follows college athletics knows the B12 is treading water at best. His schtick is what is annoying.

Thank you for this excellent descriptive post; I could not have hoped to have read a better post directed toward the mini-troll!

Your fandom for the Beakers has been acknowledged on SN in previous posts. My attempt of an objective review of the Beakers being invited to join the B1G leads me to conclude such an invitation is unlikely. IMO the only way your scenario increases the Beakers chances of being invited to join the B1G is for the Beakers to become a powerhouse in D1 football - being ranked in the Top Ten each year and playing for the National Championship. What are the odds the Beakers will achieve such a level of D1 football competence before the implosion of the Big 12?

Spending money on a sub-par football program and facilities is not what the B1G is seeking. I would enjoy reading your thoughts explaining why you are so confident that such an invitation is awaiting the Beakers.

Get real; the mini-troll has no interest in learning about the Shockers; if he did a simple google search would provide information sufficient to educate the troll.

Once again, you refuse to quote me when you disrespect me. Also, I tried and didn't find much. Maybe I was using the wrong search terms, but I couldn't find anything about KU/WSU Med center.

You can research the information and numerous writings about KU's inclusion on you own time. 3 main points to ponder. KU is an Int'l brand in basketball. Immediate prestige to the B1G. KU is finally investing in the FB program ( don't need to be top 10, but only rise to the middle of the pack in the B1G.) KU is an AAU school; similar to the other B1G schools. Thus academics are a good fit.

I graduated from both schools, but you can never find a single post where I cheered on KU over WSU, yet many posts defending WSU on Phognet.
So stop the Red Herring BS and stick with the topic.
