Ron Bonham did things that would make Grayson Allen blush. Nut punches, stick a knee into someones thigh as they ran by, you name it. Grabbed a lot of jerseys and pushed a lot. There are a lot of years between him and the recent returd horde but I'm pretty sure Bonham is the correct answer. I'm waiting for some old Cincy dude to come along and try to correct me.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

I wasn't alive to see the Cincy/WSU games but I have heard stories. That's part of the reason I picked them as the rival. We have the two strongest teams in the AAC right now, so they make the most logical choice. Your first rival is the one that usually sticks the longest.

I know UConn would be a popular choice, but they're a dumpster fire right now and probably will be until Ollie gets replaced. Memphis is also a dumpster fire. Tulsa is close geographically, but we've been mopping the floor with them lately and I don't see that changing dramatically in the near future. SMU definitely has strong potential to be a rivalry. I think Temple does too. On the flip side, USF and ECU are the new Loyola and Drake.

You don't think if someone throws a punch or a shove, that **** won't hit the fan? Fights aren't common in basketball, but they do happen.
Want to prove your point? Ignore. You don't or pick other pissing matches, you prove their point. We all will see where you take this. You call it.

If by 'mopping the floor with them', you mean we have a one game winning streak...but I know what you mean.....:)

You don't choose or declare rivalries prematurely. They organically happen because of circumstances that aren't controlled. We wouldn't have known that MSU would be a rival when Turgeon came. The we competed against Creighton for the Championship in 2006. Tulsa is as close to rivalry that we have because of the games against Nolan and when Joe hit that last minute shot to win the MVC Tourney in 88 (I think). Just be patient and something like a karate kick to the sternum will happen and we have a new rivalry.

An accurate description of how I remember Mr. Bonham playing against the Shockers. This history is why I chose Cincinnati.

Tulane would be a good rival for you guys. Neither school has a real football team.

I had to look, last close game prior to FVV-hamstring debacle was NIT champ year at Intrust. Series overall is pretty even (64-60 us). Tulsa and the mild-cats were the games we circled back in the dark ages (the 90s) as the not-miss games.

Ironically that was the Tubby Smith days, and now he's back with Memphis.

Yeah, but... I mean... I'm not sure Tulane has a real athletic department. They're the Drake of The American.
