  • Yep, 11 is the likely landing spot for tomorrow's AP Poll. Win on Thursday and we'll have a pretty terrific set up for a royal rumble on Sunday.

Fun time of year to be sure. Go Shocks!

Both of those road games before the big Sunday matchup (Shocks at Central Florida and Cincy at Tulane, especially the WSU game) could be tricky. Houston's probably still hoping for the magic combination of outcomes to give them a piece of the championship, while wondering what the heck they let happen to them at Memphis.

      • "College Basketball Rankings: Projected Top 25 for Week 17" - FanSided Sports

With the 16th week of the college basketball season in the books, here’s what the AP Top 25 rankings might look like for Week 17.

        #10. CINCINNATI BEARCATS, (25-4 Last Week: 11)
Cincinnati has a big rematch coming up against Wichita State on the road, but the Bearcats currently hold a one-game lead in the AAC after beating Tulsa and Connecticut in Week 16. The Bearcats have one of the best defensive teams in the country, but slipped up against Wichita State in Week 15, leading to a drop to No. 10 in the rankings. How will they finish the season?

#11. WICHITA STATE SHOCKERS, (23-5 Last Week: 13)
Wichita State is another team getting hot at the right time and after beating Cincinnati last week, the Shockers look like the best team in the American Athletic Conference. They’ll get another shot at the Bearcats, at home, in Week 17, and another win could catapult the Shockers into the top-10. Also, beating Cincinnati would ensure at least a share for the conference title in Wichita State’s first season as an AAC member.

        #25. HOUSTON COUGARS, (22-6 Last Week: 23)
Thanks to a blowout loss by Florida State, Houston will remain in the AP Top 25. The Seminoles were ranked No. 25 last week and would have held on to a spot in the rankings with a win over NC State, but the Seminoles were blown out on the road. Houston, on the other hand, lost a tough road game against Memphis to start the week and then beat East Carolina by 51 points on Sunday.

                      ByAndy Katz | NCAA.com Correspondent
                      Last Updated - Feb 26, 2018 08:59am EST

Every week, Andy Katz ranks his top 36 teams. These rankings are his own and are in no way affiliated with the committee. The Power 36 is winding down and the separation for a number of teams in the ACC and SEC is almost too difficult to decipher. The bubble breakdown showed how many may just get into the field. The same is true in the Big 12. So, don’t be dismayed if you don’t find your team on this list. There’s a good chance they will still get into the field. But a number of schools are worthy of consideration here.

                      6. Wichita State (7)
The Shockers have the looked the part of a second-weekend team the past few weeks. The final showdown with Cincinnati next weekend in Wichita should be must see.

                      14. Cincinnati (15):
The Bearcats are a stingy defensive team, have a variety of scorers and are Mick Cronin’s best shot to get to a Final Four or Elite Eight in quite some time. The potential to play Wichita State again next week in Orlando should be welcomed as it would prepare this team even more for the NCAAs.

                      16. Houston (18):
The Cougars were stunned by Memphis, but then throttled East Carolina. Houston has the goods to be a real tough out in the NCAA tournament. Yes, that’s where Houston will land, back in the NCAAs. It has been quite a turnaround under Kelvin Sampson for the program and his career. Well done.

                        • Looks like a lot of these ballots are dropping Texas Tech to behind us. Some are still keeping them above us, but a lot closer. I think Jamar Howard 4 President was right that we just might leap Tech this week. #12 is a certainty, #11 is very probable.

                          • Does anybody track which ballots are the most accurate? Does one writer have a really good track record at predicting the outcome?

To be clear, I mean is there one writer that does a good job of predicting the next poll result, not the tournament bracket.
