I can't imagine any scenario where a vendor can force a collegiate player to wear any particular brand of shoe.

Didn't Fred regularly wear black shoes in the second half when he was having a bad first half? I'm not a big sneaker collector, so I don't know, but they didn't look like Nike. Nike shoes usually have branding all over them. Fred's shoes were just plain black.

My understanding was the same as yours: you could pay for your own or get a certain number of Nike shoes free.

Just did a quick Google image search. Looks like they were typically Jordans or Nikes. He did wear some plain black low tops with very little branding on them, so I could see why you would think that. The ones below are definitely Jordans.

I hope this goes through. Personally, I hate our uniforms. I really liked the ShockerS unis we had for the Final Four but everything before and after has been boring, and in the case of our current away jerseys, downright ugly.

I'm completely surprised Marshall cares about unis. Our MBB gear has always been so incohesive and uninspired that I've always assumed it was because such minutiae wasn't a big emphasis to the man at the helm.
