    I think it's a pretty fair contract on both sides. I mean, he has them competitive and on the upswing but that's it. Hard to fork over 7 figures for exactly zero NCAA appearances.

      I think this explains any further expansion in a nutshell. I can see expansion happening when/if the big 12 minus 2 implodes after the next round of tv contracts happen. There would probably be 4 of those teams looking for a conference to join and each of them have good basketball. Not to mention football. Would be looking at a division system then for sure.

        I think this explains any further expansion in a nutshell. I can see expansion happening when/if the big 12 minus 2 implodes after the next round of tv contracts happen. There would probably be 4 of those teams looking for a conference to join and each of them have good basketball. This would fit the AAC idea of not becoming a basketball only laden conference ie the old big east model which they do not want.

          I think that spending on football will continue to be a drain on some schools (especially Tulane and maybe Temple) and money earned from football television will be marginal at best in the American. Football is not gaining viewers, therefore the long term future of football is not a certain thing because of its expensive nature.
