KU fans just mad cause Wichita State was the last Kansas team in the final 4
Amazing our fan base can come at ku when the dominate their conference and they make the elite or more consistently. We are coming off four straight conference titles and NCAA tourney bids, let's not be that fan base that ridicules because we may or may not like them. I mean they beat UK at Rupp and we couldn't get it done, let's watch who we mock and worry about shockers basketball and go further next season.
And *I* will show them a little bit more of respect when they GIVE BACK OUR MEDICAL SCHOOL.

"Attendance Center." Never forget.
Not to mention their launching an NCAA investigation on us after signing Maurice Evans.
I don't think anyone here is denying KU's prowess. That would be silly. However, hating them is not. They could win 20 national titles in a row and I'd still talk trash.
I know, 2 posts in one day. But this one trouble me. Being in KC for work, I interact with KU ball fans all the time. With the exception of twitter users and current KU students, most KU fans are neutral and mildly satisfied with WSU's success. The WSU-KU Omaha game fired up both fan bases and smack talk increased for a month or so. I suppose I could have had a uncommon interaction with KU ball fans. I guess I get annoyed when Kellen Marshall sends our fan base on a retweet storm of smack-talking a program that (from my experience) mostly respects WSU. WSU's successes stands alone. They don't require comparisons to KU to make them noteworthy.

What &%$#ing Universe are you in?
"I suppose I could have had an uncommon interaction with KU ball fans"............Uh, yeah, you did, and it is one you should wake up from, wake up, wake up.
And, by the way, I love what Kellen does...He is the son of the MAN, which makes him the MAN!

Are you THE Fake Gregg Marshall? If so, I admire your work on Twitter, sir.
Is this really the year for this argument? There are better paths to take...like the one Marty presented.
I see no problem with someone who has access to Phognet or twitter posting Marty's data. This is a great statement that all intelligent people would understand. But I guarantee that it won't make a dent in their opinions. Did I tell you how they've reacted to the late, great Dave The Ravenwhen we were consistently in the Top 5 in the nation or when we were led by Antoine Carr and moved in Top 20 Circles consistently? Maybe you remember Gregg Marshall and his leadership into national polls. It's never made a difference and the Elites including Bill Self continue to say they are too ELITE to play us.
Let alone the fact that really, the Big 12 did alright in the tourney, certainly not spectacular. I'll give it to them that West Virginia showed well, even KU. Baylor made the Sweet 16 by beating a 14 and an 11 seed (on their 3rd game in 6 days) and subsequently got blown out by 20 against a 7 seed. Iowa St. got beat by the same Purdue team that looked terrible against KU. KSU and Oklahoma St. both lost in the round of 64. The Big 12 performed how their seeds were expected, I guess, big bonus to them since typically they don't even do that. But yeah sure, I'll go along that the Big 12 showed pretty well, this tournament.

I can only guess he's setting up a talking point. Maybe (probably) O-State. Because I can't think of any other rational reason he would throw that out there.

We clearly showed we weren't the same team that was playing in November and December. I'll give credit to the Big 12, they do very well in the non-con, and then somehow come back to the pack by the time March rolls around.
Thanks again, marty. Just to summarize quickly and draw a fairly obvious conclusion:
The Flagship's average seed in those five years has been 1.4; WSU's has been 7.6 (with a median of 9).
Not surprisingly, the average seed of the Chickenhawks' opponents overall has been worse (9.1 vs. WSU's 6.2); the average seed of the teams they've beaten has been worse (11.2 vs. 7.6 for WSU); and the average seed of the teams to whom they've lost has been worse (5 vs. 3.4 for WSU).
So the two teams have played the same number of games and have the same record; but one has played better seeded opponents, beaten better-seeded opponents, and lost to better-seeded opponents, all while making the only Final Four appearance of the two and winning a head-to-head matchup between the two pretty decisively, both straight up and against the spread.
That doesn't just tell us that WSU has been the better tournament team during those five years; it also tells us that the comparison really isn't even all that close.
