Between the Big 12 games and the Maui Invitational, I really like the way your schedule is shaping up.
Also, the AAC will certainly be improved this season. Cincinnati will be better, easily a top 15 team. Tacko Fall has withdrawn from the NBA draft, which means UCF should be an at-large contender. Houston also returns its best player and will probably be an NIT or bubble team. SMU will still be good, probably a tournament team. Tulsa, Temple, USF, and Tulane will all be better -- Tulsa and Temple should be top 100 RPI teams. UConn, Memphis, and ECU are all wild cards. A lot of roster turnover, but UConn had a lot of guys hurt last year and the guys Memphis lost were detrimental to the team chemistry, so those teams could go either way.

Also, if it hasn't been mentioned here, here is what Cincinnati has on the schedule so far:
@ Xavier (annual Crosstown Shootout)
@ UCLA (return game next year)
Mississippi State
Florida at Never Forget Tribute Classic (not a done deal yet)
Cayman Islands Classic with 4 games against: Iowa, Wyoming, UAB, South Dakota State, Richmond, Louisiana, and Buffalo
I would imagine we are probably working on another home-and-home and will fill out the remaining 4 slots with buy games.

"So You Weren’t Invited to the SEC – Big 12 Challenge…Again." - SB*Nation

"...So with that all said, I will now present to you another set of options for Mizzou to fill that spot in their schedule where a SEC – Big 12 matchup should have been.
• The Kansas City Challenge featuring not Kansas
Since we left the Big 12 for the money and stability of the SEC, Kansas has made it a point of saying they will never play us again in basketball ever because we left. In that time, they’ve played Colorado, Nebraska and will play Texas A&M in basketball this year, who also left, so clearly it’s just a Mizzou thing, which is fine. And if Kansas won’t play us, let’s play someone else they refuse to play. I give you the annual “Bill Self is a giant potato head toupee wearing Baby Mizzou vs Wichita State Challenge.” Bill Self won’t schedule the Shockers because well he’s afraid of losing and he won’t schedule Mizzou because he’s a giant man baby. So, let’s have Mizzou and Wichita State face off yearly at the Sprint Center and everyone make a lot of money all while laughing at how stupid Kansas truly is.
• The Mid Major Kansas Loss Humiliation Invitational
This idea stems from the previous one, but when ideas come to you, you roll with them. You know how every year, Kansas sees the NCAA Tournament and starts sweating because they know they’re about to be the crying team during “One Shinning Moment” after taking a loss they never should have? Well I say we celebrate it with a yearly tournament. Mizzou would invite, Bradley, Bucknell, Northern Iowa, UTEP, Western Kentucky, VCU, and Wichita State to a rotating tournament on a yearly basis either in St. Louis, Kansas City, or Chicago and all 8 teams could play a mini tournament against each other, round robin or single elimination, I don’t care. Between games, highlights of Kansas’ losses would be shown on the jumbotron and Ali Farokhmanesh could preside over the whole thing...."

Buy games will probably fill up most of our schedule at Koch. Teams like UNO, Arkansas State, UTA, Grand Canyon, NMSU, ETSU, and Denver may be a possibility. We will most likely get our usual MEAC game for the Maui. We may get one more H/H beginning at Koch. I would guess that JSU would most likely be a neutral court game at IBA or in KC.

Even ignoring the upgraded 17-18 schedule, look ahead to 18-19 and you're going to be able to watch AT LEAST 6 or 7 times as many quality home games as we've seen in one season for much of the last 5 years.
When you have Baylor, IBA, random B12 :p , some combo of UCONN, Cincinnati, SMU, Houston (if not all) you've got games that pretty much every fan wants to attend, especially compared to only a really good UNI team or OSU etc in one entire season. Pretty special times.

Excellent stuff. Certainly no fan of some of the antics of Mizzou fans and their school, but one can appreciate a sharp wit, and that one is razor like. Plus with 'Zo coming back, it not only makes sense but seems likely.

Rumor at Creighton a year ago was that Creighton was working on scheduling Gonzaga for a H&H starting in 2017-18, and if that didn't pan out they would schedule a H&H with Wichita as a backup. It was announced this week that the Jays got Gonzaga, starting this coming season in Spokane, so I'm not optimistic we will seen the return of WSU to the schedule in men's basketball. On the plus side, looking forward to a continuation of the volleyball series at Koch.
