I'd be happy if WSU maintained higher standards than that institution up north. Definitely not looking to make them my moral compass.

Did anyone else watch the presser? HCGM says it was his fault that the last plays were poorly executed. Then Shamet takes the blame himself. Someone already pointed this out, but that's incredible. What a great young man.

But, if you listen further, HCGM does seem to indicate that Shamet chose to run a different play than the one HCGM called. Did anyone else get that sense? HCGM seemed to say something like "I don't really know why he did that, maybe he thought the defense looked different than anticipated" or something.

I did not get the sense that HCGM was mad or anything, but I don't know. It would appear he's given Shamet full authority to call audibles. As a freshman. This dude's ceiling is so high.

Nope, not even close. This is a tad embarrassing yes, not the kind of national news we want. When this overshadows the game itself, there's a problem. But.. those thugs from up North still take the cake, and their coach and school who cover it all up are just as much to blame. There's a reason many people are starting to call KU the Kansas State Penitentiary of Lawrence. It's getting that bad up there.

They were stolen from their house in Wichita. What really sucks is I'd gladly help them out replacing them, but I'm sure that would be an impermissible benefit.

At Wichita State, yes. At North Carolina, Louisville, Kentucky, or Kansas (or any other big school) no. Hell, I'd give McDuffie my PS4, I don't have time to play it anymore, and the only reason I got it anyways was for MLB: The Show

And there you have it folks. Although I don't use Snapchat or Instagram, I do use Twitter and Facebook, and I occasionally tweet some of our athletes at Wichita State to tell them the fine job their doing. Am I going to be criticized for that?? Just saying. :)

I wasn't meaning that you would criticize me, I meant the same people that criticize you would criticize me. No personal attacks should ever take place on these boards, but yet they do, because some poster have a holier than thou attitude. You just learn to deal with it after a while. I appreciate the insight.

Got back to Wichita about 330AM. I'm tired and I don't feel well. I've read many reports, many comments and this was discussed somewhat extensively during the trip home, when I wasn't sleeping.

The players that played their guts out yesterday, and I am referring to the players on both teams, deserve better than to be dismissed. That was a hell of a game.

I'm sure I'll comment later but I want to digest everything before I do....perhaps being a little more thoughtful (not because I'm more thoughtful, I'm just more tired, and sick) that many or most of the particulars that were engaged yesterday.


I am very proud of the team and the coaches for the preparation, effort and execution yesterday. They deserve better, from all of us.

gotta put yourself in the position to move on. Shox did that. I'm completely confident the Shox will not only continue to get the opportunity but will take advantage of it.

I'm just trying to figure out how the heck HCGM is going to keep all these guards happy playing time wise. You'll have Landry, Conner, Daishon, Austin, with Samajae Haynes-Jones coming in. That's a lot of players fighting for PT, and all will be deserving of it I'm sure. I guess, as a coach, if that is the worst of my problems, I'm feeling pretty damn good about things.

Players this summer better put double emphasis on individual improvement or the will get blown by. I can't wait to see how much better we will be come November.
