It was cold in the arena but I think that is because of the ice. If the arena is kept too warm, the moisture can seep into the court and cause a slick basketball floor.

Something to look for in today's first game -

On a few occasions- the ISU coach warched and listened to the EU coach during yesterday's game. He would then give instructions to his defense.

I know stealing "signs" is normal course of business, but I hadn't seen it so blatantly done in the past.

Are you from back east? Buddy of mine from western Pennsylvania always "warshed" his clothes. Insisted he was pronouncing it property.

Question for those in attendance yesterday. Both Bob Hull in a post-game comment on the radio and Bob Lutz in his Eagle column comment that it was very cold in Scottrade. Bob called it frigid. I am wondering whether this was primarily on the floor or in the stands as well or if it was even that big of deal. If it was that cold on the floor could that have been a factor in the cold starts in most of the games?

Does the floor sit over the ice hockey playing surface?

I was on the edge of Shocker fans, I love it cold, and I was freezing. So cold. That being said, a fan somewhere was pointed in my general direction so that made it worse than it probably was.

It always seems cold in Scottrade to me. Probably because of the ice as previously mentioned

I haven't heard any of the Coaches complain about it so it may not be that big of a deal. I would think the players would prefer it to be a bit on the cool side although I don't think they want to be cold, cold.

Have you not paid attention to how native Kansans talk. Many of them, myself included, tend to do the same thing with "wash". Although I never insisted that is the correct pronunciation. Regional accents are just part of America although not as strong or noticeable as they used to be.

It was a redbird fan wasn't it? I can see how that would have made it worse

My family's staying at the Westin. I was walking back to my room, and a very elderly woman decked out in Loyola clothing walked out of the room next door and thanked the maid for her hospitality. It was Sister Jean!

As Someone mentioned earlier keeping it cold probably helps keep the ice from making the court slick. I haven't seen much slipping in any of the games so it seems to work.

This color commentator is awful.
