  • I was wondering myself if this keeps Lusk off the hot seat.

    • Can't help but wonder if the aTm implosion carried over to this season for UNI.

      • Wait.. You mean UNI isn't going to make the tourney? I could have swore I heard they were during their "win streak" earlier this year.

        • And UNI goes quietly back into the sunset.

          • I'm hoping this weekend ends the same way it did the last time the Shox played MSU on Saturday.

With the luck that being a MSU fan has brought us in Springfield the last few years, yes I can see Lusk keeping his job just because of this damn game. The problem just isn't Lusk, its our AD as well, look at where we were with Wichita State in 2011 w/ Conzo, and look at were you guys are versus were we are now.....nuff said about our leadership. I completely understand the Shox wanting to leave for another conference, however there is a lot of us in Springtown that would think you're departure would be devastating for the Valley, definitely hope you don't leave....Loyola is no Creighton and the idiots of the valley would replace WSU with either UMKC or Anal Roberts.

              • Can we just skip to Sunday? I'm willing to bet both games tomorrow will be 20 point wins, so let's just have MSU and SIU forfeit so we can get this over with.

I would in no way think that tomorrow is going to be a certain 20 point win for the jailbirds. They had a very close game the first time around and they just played about 10 days ago in a game that SIU should have won, but they ended up losing by 4. Expect another very close game that, if they win, will wear out the delinquents even more.

                  • Would love to see Hinson beat ISU and offer proof he's getting the program going.

                    Then bury them by 30.

Once scoring in the 50s, once in the 60s, and once in the 70s. Keep that in mind next time someone tells you it's tough to beat a team three times in one season. SIU not only did it to Loyola, they did two of them in one week. I guess you could say it was tough -- especially the 72-70 game last week -- but they managed to get it done.

While that's true, I saw absolutely no evidence from SIU yesterday that they could hang with a better team. Both Loyola and SIU looked like they had no ability to win a basketball game, but someone had to. If they play anything like they did yesterday, they won't score 40 on the Redbirds. But STL is a weird place and it is a new day after all. It very well could be similar to what you described 10 days ago.

                        • Question for those in attendance yesterday. Both Bob Hull in a post-game comment on the radio and Bob Lutz in his Eagle column comment that it was very cold in Scottrade. Bob called it frigid. I am wondering whether this was primarily on the floor or in the stands as well or if it was even that big of deal. If it was that cold on the floor could that have been a factor in the cold starts in most of the games?

Does the floor sit over the ice hockey playing surface?

It was warm enough in the Shocker sections because there were people in the seats. Can't speak to the other half empty sections. At least nobody was slipping like at the Ford Center.

                              Yes.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

                              • Something to look for in today's first game -

On a few occasions- the ISU coach warched and listened to the EU coach during yesterday's game. He would then give instructions to his defense.

I know stealing "signs" is normal course of business, but I hadn't seen it so blatantly done in the past.
