Not a lot of rambling going on today, it appears. So much for the darkhorse threat from Loyola. Meanwhile, SIU displayed some of the same FT shooting acuity that enabled them to snare a defeat against the Jailbirds last time those two met.
I think SIU was laying a trap, trying to get the Jailbirds overconfident for tomorrow. Luckily for them, Loyola (especially Milton Doyle -- tough way to finish his career) was willing to play along, although even if Loyola had won it's hard to believe IllSt would have been exactly quaking after that spectacle. I'm at home working, not in St. Louis, and just following occasionally on ESPN; and even from here I could tell this one was must-miss basketball.
Edit: I actually just checked KenPom to see if that debacle somehow damaged WSU's Adjusted Efficiency since WSU has four games with these two teams on the record -- not sure how, but who knows? -- but apparently not. It was +25.50 before the game, +25.49 after, and still barely ahead of Baylor for the #10 ranking.Last edited by WSUwatcher; March 3, 2017, 06:17 PM.

Before UNI/MSU started I was thinking MSU could take the game. Now that it's started, I'm convinced. MSU is playing smart - they're letting Carlson shoot. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
