The Drake fans at the game were pretty engaged but the size of the crowd was way less than impressive. No they aren't going anywhere this year but Coach Rutter has them playing an entertaining brand of basketball. They play hard and are a dangerous team especially at home.

I assume the game is archived on ESPN3, and I'd like to have a look-see.

Maybe 6-8 minutes left. Nurger wrestling toward the sideline for a loose ball after a Drake miss.

Shocks closed the game on a 30-14 blitz over the final 11 minutes. That was a nice response to Drake taking an 8 point lead and the crowd being jazzed.

Just watched the replay and the elbow incident. I don't see many reflex reactions where an elbow gets turned into someone's jaw but I suppose it's possible. But as AndShock pointed out, the shove afterwards was not reflexive and completely intentional which then further questions the original intent of the elbow. The D-2 scrub is going to get something returned to him in the future. I hope Marshall makes a call to somebody so something can be done. Like Shane said, if that BS happened on the court, that would've been an immediate ejection. D-2 scrub.

And that's a huge problem. We're winning these games because the opponents really suck and eventually break down to their sucky selves. It's not about how we force our will on the other team and beat them. I swear we would finish 13th in the Big 12.

It's this prevalent attitude that gets us under-seeded in the NCAA but in the sweet 16 or beyond. WSU opponents play the season as if they get to the big time twice a year.

Rewatching the first half...
Connor hit his 2nd 3, then 4 straight trips he runs down the floor, open, hands up, and no one gets him the ball.
Shox need to get better about finding hot hands, especially Shaq who thought his 3 was a better option than Connor.

“At the beginning of the year, I was getting my shot blocked a lot,” he said. “I just kind of got tired of it, so I’m trying to dunk everything from now on.”

Great attitude. I concur. None of these scrubs can stop Rashard if he goes up full force.

I'm actually glad we have had a couple mucky games. Games like this build character and toughness. Games like these help come March. This win is our only single digit conference win. It's only the second such win of the season along with OU. It's the biggest lead we have overcame (8). Might not have been pretty, but it was helpful.

Maybe some of that will rub off on SM. I want both of them
to ATTACK the basket and not shoot threes. Want CF's mates
to find him more and more three attempts from him. Want DW
to start posting up on the left block more. Want MM to keep
doing what he is doing - his shot will come. When ALL five
players on the court are playing with energy and good defense
we can be pretty good but it only takes one not doing it to make
us look bad.
