WSU vs ISU (red) thread

With the4 2 teams I saw tonight and what I've seen of both teams in other games, we ain't beating them in St.Louis unless a couple players for the Shox have some epiphanies between now and then.

If they don't win...NIT! Really that what they are.

Lost to a top ~50 team on the road...sucks, but it happens. Hopefully we learn from it - if for no other reason than to avoid what's coming practice and vid sessions this week. HCGM will likely invent new swear words in honor of our effort.

We miss a Gabe Blair and Lufile type player tonight.

Our Frontline was just too soft. And I agree that we needed to shoot from the outside more. Maybe we lose by 20. But there was absolutely dick working inside.

I'm the same way. Their 4th and 5th year guys are starting to not make mistakes. Mcintosh is really good. Good enough for Kentucky at one point.

I know they shot it a lot better than we did (they had much better looks) but I am really surprised how much difference the defense is between the 2 teams.

Mostly how we haven't improved at all defensively, maybe even regressed some throughout the year.

Certainly if they shoot 54/46/67 the rest of the season they won't lose much, if at all.

Mostly disappointed with how we were so successful in the paint for stretches then went away for longer stretches.

But ISU was tougher and made shots, so they win.

The next question is can we not let them beat us twice? Must come back and be much much tougher against Evansville and start to build things back up.

I won't be like UNIfan and talk at large, not because I don't think 29-5 doesn't get in (it does) but because I don't think this team can be that consistent for the next 14 games.

I trust there will be some CheerAngry fans ready to go next home game, when ISU visits the 316 and St. Louis, because the spoilage is over.

This is perhaps the most consistent team in the country. If the team is in the top 100 we lose if not we win pretty simple

Conner and McDuffie need to shoot the ball more. Should be top 2 in attempts every night.

I agree. Connor hits 2, then gets subbed out, never gets rhythm back. Zach should never take shots Marcus could have. Bench needs to shorten. Too many players that don't know what to do in big games. Frustrating.

We are about where I'd thought we'd be, maybe even a game better.

ISUR should've had about three guys dismissed from the team that played tonight. I think I will take our players and coach both on and off the court over that probation office.

That's the point, no one runs zones against well coached teams who can shoot. We are not that. So anyone with any talent should run zone against us. Should I draw you a picture?

ISU also only played 8 (which was enough) but in a game when they didn't need to foul, couldn't, because they had 3 with 4.

They had to have a lot of things go right to win, and they got a lot, including playing harder which is the one thing that is annoying.
