That was a rough night. Nice effort though.

I had higher expectations for that team then. They bounced back nicely after that fiasco and got better. Hopefully with this team the light will come on for few (like Mr Shaq) and they will learn to play with more heart and smarts.

Interesting post.... Cotton, Cle, Wiggins, Kyles these are a few of the guys Marshall has recruited... please tell me in the upgrade of talent who plays better above the rim

Yep... just not seeing it... this team reminds me more of the 2006 team than any team in the Marshall Era... now if we make the sweet sixteen that would be great... this team is big but plays small against athletic talent.

Maybe, but to me, we have way more weapons, and we are still learning. Brown, Kelly, Morris, Frankcamp....Nurger in their 3rd year here. Everyone else in their 1st or 2nd year... still a long ways to go, but lots of promise.

My point is this... athletes play above the zone... did we have one back screen cut for an alley tonight to break the zone... how many times in the Marshall era have we seen an alley to break the zone... I bet he hasn't forgot how to coach... we just don't have the athletes that everyone on this board thinks we have...

Oh wow, you got me! Jamie Dixon and Pitt never cut up the vaunted Syracuse zone. And WV and KU just can't beat baylor's unstoppable d. boehiem is right, most teams only prepare for a man. That's how a zone can be successful.
Face it we weren't well prepared.

Totally it's that easy run some plays Pitt runs and spends all year practicing. It's amazing any team that runs zone wins any games. It's almost like the team who plays zone practices as well against what will be run against them. Weird.

ISUR is a gooooood team. We won't beat them by 20+. Won't happen, not even close.

It's possible, but only if we hold them to 35% shooting and we shoot 50-55% from the 2 and 3 and hit at least 80% from the line.
