I just did a quick google search and you mention on this page that you were using kenpom: http://shockernet.net/forum/showthread.php?9996-Pick-em-games-for-Feb-26/page2
On my phone so no hyperlink

Btw, you can win them with it, just as anyone with any sort of common sense could.
Did I just understand you to say that it would just be common sense for anyone wanting to win to use stats?
You act as if it's cheating or something. None of the pick'em is pure guesses (although mine appear to be). Where does one drawn the line at this cheating? KenPom, RPI, knowing who won/lost their last game, who they've beaten and who they've lost to?

It certainly implies that their expertise in statistics would be found lacking if they were to participate. Your claimed intent could have been easily accomplished with a simple PM instead of creating a whole thread asking other posters to weigh in on whether they are surprised/disappointed by the non participation of our fellow posters.Last edited by Shocker1976; January 6, 2017, 08:55 PM.

No... it's not cheating. I said if you use some of these rankings and stats as a guide, that's one thing. But to make predictions based on someone else making predictions takes no brain function at all. You're not thinking about the game at all - you're copying and pasting someone else's dirty work.
I just assumed everyone picking these games were just seeing the games and making snap judgments based on what they've seen, what they think will happen, and a few other factors. I really didn't expect people to actually go digging around and getting offensive and defensive derivatives for a free message board pick'em contest, but hey, who knew?Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
