The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Anyone see John Higgins Hair's comment?
Missed the end of the #kubasketball game. I was traveling.
Good stuff as always.

SIU and Bradley at 2-1? You've got to be kidding me........
Other than ISUr and MSU, I don't think there is a roster in the league that HCGM could coach to a top 75 RPI if he'd had the reins since last April. This is just a bottomless pit of (mostly) shitty coaches, (mostly) shitty players, (unanimously sans WSU) shitty fan support and (unanimously sans WSU and, I guess, UNI and Bradley) shitty budgets/salaries. Elgin should just light the whole thing on fire after he slaps us on the butt on our way to the AAC but before slamming the ice pick into his temple.
The attendance of ISUr vs. MSU tonight is a beautiful illustration of how ****ed this league is. That was a premier matchup of likely top 3 teams, and Redbird Arena looked like it did at the ass end of the Bob Donewald era when their RPI was at 5x what it is today. Barring an unlikely mixture of luck and incredibly strong, fresh leadership at a lot of these schools, the reversal of their decline ain't happening anytime soon (like, in the next decade+). Everyone but us remains mired in a mid-90s level MVC funk.

It seems pretty clear that ISUr and MSU are the only other contenders for any sort of post season tournament. The other 7 are unlikely to even sniff the CBI/CIT/CRAP/WHATEVER tourneys.
16-2 or 17-1 seem like the most likely records for WSU. Either of those records easily wins the league. I'm primarily rooting for ISUr the rest of the way. I'll root for MSU a little, but they need to reach 14-4 (not going to happen) to even have a chance at finishing top 100. ISUr is now nearly a lock to finish top 100 (11-7 should be good enough, so only need to go 8-7 the rest of the way). It would probably take 15-3 to reach top 50, but 14-4 would be close. Even if they only reach the 60-70 range, WSU needs modest quality wins. It is inevitable that people will talk about how weak WSU's best wins are. Might as well make those best wins as good as possible to help soften that argument just a bit.

The way it looks now, I will only be comfortable on selection sunday if we win in St. Louis. Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

2 wins over a mediocre Top 75 team isn't gonna improve our quality win total. Wins over a team that's not getting an at-large will not give us any bump at all whatsoever.
They'll be lucky to win 12 Valley games anyways so it's moot.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.
