3G coached WSU teams are known for be willing to get down in the mud and the muck and scrap, claw and simply out-fight other teams. This is very effective when the other team prefers to play a more gentrified, country club style of basketball. Louisville teams seem to be one of the big boys who seem to be willing to do the same thing. This Shocker team, for the most part, have not had to deal with that kind of aggressive play before. They didn't really respond well in the first half. However, at least in the second half the Shocks came back for more and, in fact, got the better of it.

Michigan State under Coach Isso is another high level program that generally has no problem getting down and dirty. Hopefully, for the Shocks they are ready to respond from the get go today.

Fred, Ron and Evan were a bit like Rocky Balboa. When the opponent would really start throwing haymakers they would stick out their chins and say go ahead man hit me again. Harder, harder. And at some point they would get the upper hand. May need some of that attitude today but the Shocks also need to do that with some smart efficient team play. Wouldn't hurt to shoot the ball better as well.

Lol, that is KC Shox's mojo and it's good for this place. Not everybody can be a sunshine pumper. Oh, by the way, I actually agree with him.

WSU opens up at -4.5, now up to -5.5

Favorites back to back against Louisville and Michigan State. Talk about respect.

Shockers need this win to salvage some of the respect they've been building leading up to the Louisville game. Louisville loss will not hurt us, but we can do ourselves a huge favor by winning. This game. I think 3G will have a better plan and the boys will be ready.

At some point that respect has to be validated by performance. Hopefully, the Shocks will take care of that today.

Win or lose, this will be another great test for our team. I'm anxious to see how they respond to yesterday's defeat. The team went into a real nosedive during last year's holiday tournament and I'm hoping this team doesn't mirror last year's team. Judging by the way they responded in the second half yesterday, I think they'll be ready for whatever Izzo's Spartan's throw at them. I expect another tough defensive battle. First team to 60 is the victor.

I am not going to waste my time replying to your nonsense, other than to invite you again to leave this blog and go post your nonsense on the board of whatever college MBB team you support.
I usually do not post on prediction threads, particularly the scores, and I understand KC went way too far by predicting an injury (totally uncalled for and should apologize for), but should we change the name of these threads to "How Much Will the Shox Win By"? He goes against the grain often, but there is nothing out of line with his post here and gives reasons for his "prediction". Many here predicted that the Shockers would not go undefeated and would lose 4-6 games. Certainly, 1 or 2 of those could happen in this tourney.

One is not a troll for predicting a loss against a quality opponent, even if he does it more often than others. Those of you that don't like that, don't comment about it. If he is trolling, he's being successful at it when you do comment and show it gets under your skin. And if he is a troll, that will make him happy. That said, a timeout from posting, in my opinion, was deserved for the injury comment, along with a warning regarding future posts of such nature could mean a ban.

                End soapbox.

Due to the stature of Coach Izzo and MSU MBB, playing them this season is a major plus for the Shockers. I am happy the Shockers will leave the Bahamas' after playing such P5 teams; and, of course, I will be much happier if the Shocker record is 2-1 rather than 1-2 against these schools.

Do not disagree with much of your post,; in fact, when developing my 30 win season for the Shockers I predicted a loss to Louisville. But I think you are too kind regards KC's posts.

The difference from last years holiday tournament to this year is our point guard doesn't have a bad hamstring, LS is healthy and playing and our center has not sustained a horrific injury to his neck and literally carried off the court...so I like our chances a whole lot better this year.

I think it's really pretty sad when you get called a troll or just get beat up on this board when you predict a Shocker loss. Is that really what our fan base has become? Do we really expect the Shox to win every single game year in and year out? Are Shocker fans not allowed to predict a loss by our beloved Shockers? I understand the name KC Shox has more to do with it, but I've also seen plenty of other posters on here get jumped after predicting a Shocker loss. It's part of the reason why we've lost so many great posters on these forums, because people aren't allowed to have an opinion unless it is pro Shox all the time.

Well guess what people? I too, am expecting a loss to Michigan State today. The Spartans are a better team than they've shown so far, and I believe we are just a season away from being a Final Four type team. There's still too many pieces that haven't quite figured it out yet. It'll be close, and our young guys will battle, but ultimately, we'll come up short and lose by 5. I had predicted 1-2 losses in this tournament all along, but if we can steal one today then that is fantastic.

I will say that the fact we were favored against both Louisville and Michigan State just shows the level of respect Wichita State men's basketball is now getting, and well deserved. But as others have said, it means nothing if we don't validate that respect with good performances against top teams. Win or lose today, it will still be a great learning experience for our guys.

                          From today's write-up by Sully.
"...While the Spartans are big, they’re not as intimidating as Louisville or Baylor. The Shockers should enjoy more success in the lane."

6-point favorites in Vegas. This is an excellent opportunity to get one of those top 50 RPI wins that are so hard to come by. RPIForecast says even if Michigan State finishes the regular season 18-12, they are still expected to have an RPI of 44.
