3G coached WSU teams are known for be willing to get down in the mud and the muck and scrap, claw and simply out-fight other teams. This is very effective when the other team prefers to play a more gentrified, country club style of basketball. Louisville teams seem to be one of the big boys who seem to be willing to do the same thing. This Shocker team, for the most part, have not had to deal with that kind of aggressive play before. They didn't really respond well in the first half. However, at least in the second half the Shocks came back for more and, in fact, got the better of it.
Michigan State under Coach Isso is another high level program that generally has no problem getting down and dirty. Hopefully, for the Shocks they are ready to respond from the get go today.
Fred, Ron and Evan were a bit like Rocky Balboa. When the opponent would really start throwing haymakers they would stick out their chins and say go ahead man hit me again. Harder, harder. And at some point they would get the upper hand. May need some of that attitude today but the Shocks also need to do that with some smart efficient team play. Wouldn't hurt to shoot the ball better as well.
