It will be interesting to see if the other metrics will truly be used. I mean, they "say" they will this year, but then I remember the ever changing rules of officiating over the last few years. If they are going to be using these newer metrics, we are all the sudden a strong lock for an at-large, even with an RPI of 72. I just don't believe they really will look at it like they say they will.

BPI = CHECK
Sargain = CHECK
Massey = CHECK
Eye TEST = CHECK
Built-Up CACHE = Check
RPI = No way Jose

Gonna be interesting. Give the last couple at-larges to .500 P-5 schools...or do what's right and reward the program that has met all the requirments minus RPI?????

Unfortunately, there is a lot of truth in what SB Shock is saying. When the "experts" are discussing bubble teams they generally primarily focus on RPI, record vs top 50 (or 100), SOS, non-con SOS... all of which are not looking very good for WSU currently. Overall record, advanced metrics, etc. (basically everything that WSU is currently ranked relatively high in) is generally a secondary or even tertiary factor that is taken into consideration. But it is looking like that all might change next year, so there is a light at the end if the tunnel!

Here are a couple examples I feel we can compare WSU to this year.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but our RPI is actually 68 per WarrenNolan.com as of this moment. We dropped .0004 last night but actually moved up 3 spots due to relative weakness by teams around us.

Also, our SOS and Non-Con SOS are notably stronger than what you have above (Overall SOS 183; OOC SOS 198). Current numbers again taken from our team profile at WarrenNolan.

I was going off ESPN. Obviously different sites have slightly different numbers.

ESPN looks like a pretty substantial outlier compared to WarrenNolan and Live-RPI. Enormous SOS differences b/t those two vs. ESPN.
