OSU's Mitchell Solomon tipped in a totally uncontested rebound off a Melo Trimble miss into the Maryland basket. See video.

That one turned out not to only be embarrassing as hell but perhaps pretty painful as well.

    • UNI got beat by its own game by Wyoming. While UNI hit 10 of its 30 three point attempts Wyoming buried 16 of the 29 three points they let fly.

Considering Wyoming's 3-point barrage, the fact that Bennett Koch did not play and that Klint Carlson only managed 2 points the Panthers did well to make it an 8-point game.

Wow, he was really trying to tip it in, it looked like. Didn't miss a beat, though, getting it out of the net to inbound. Very confusing.

After watching the replay of their game with SDSU I say yes. Solid back court in Richardson and Custer. Very difficult to turn them over. They have a junior college transfer, Aundre Jackson who is undersized for a 4 but is quick and hardly ever misses. He went 11 for 12 and the miss was rushed by the shot clock. And Doyle wants to get to the dance in his senior year.

And Lohaus (sp?) is still out.

Is him being out a bigger problem for them than I thought it would be? He's one of those guys that never really looked to me like he was carrying a lot of the weight, although we've had some guys like that who were much more important than their stats would suggest. I haven't watched many of their games. It sounds like him being out may be more detrimental than I thought.

Him being out in conjunction with UNI not having a PG is not a good combo. He wasn't a PG either, but he could relieve some of the ball-handling.

I don't know.....how much of a problem did you think it would be for them? lol

I think the kid is a player and he provides a solid guard that they can isolate if they want, much the same way they do with Carlson. He's light years ahead of Rhodes and Haldeman at least now, and the frosh PG McLeod (?).

They've got maybe 7 D1 athletes ready to compete, and with Lohaus and Koch out, they're just paper thin, especially athletically speaking.

                  • Thanks guys. Like I said, I've watched very little of them, and the bits I have seen, he didn't look very special. But if they're that short on depth, he doesn't have to be very special for him being out to have a major impact.

When you say "paper thin" and "athletically speaking" when referencing UNI, I just assume you are talking about verticals.

                      • Didn't realize Colorado had beaten the Longhorns this year. Maybe that was a good win for C. State at Colorado, RPI being what it is.

It was definitely a good win. Texas has not exactly been a world-beater thus far though.

I think they (Longhorns) were ranked #22 at the time. If they can get a victory over the chickens it might help our RPI as much as it will help the chickens!!!

Just because national writers love Shaka Smart doesn't mean his team is going to be good this year.

We need any kind of RPI bump we can get after the Bahama's.
