I'd note that, unlike *******,Davis is closely following a non P5 game--maybe even watching it!--
And complimenting us on our performance, before the game's even finished
How many other national cbb writers did that?
I'd suggest that his worst bias is of the P5, top 50 win variety. Look who he moved above us:
Mich St, Ok St, Miami, Ia St.
T's safe to say he thinks we're a quality program, that should (just barely) be in the tournament, and is predisposed to favor P5 teams with recent shiny wins, ala MSU
IDominance is a state of mind.

The problem with this bias, as with all biases, is that it is selective. If you don't like Koch contributing to WSU, but think other schools DON'T have big name donors just as controversial, then you're not looking hard enough. He should just do his job: rank the teams. If he wants his bias to influence who he ROOTS for, then ok.

And not only that, this gush of political correctness comes after an election where the Koch brothers really did not support the guy who won. Seems like not only is he getting caught up in politics, he does poorly at identifying cause and effect as well.

Well said. Do your friggin job, which has nothing to do with your personal political beliefs. I may think Baylor University is trash for all the terrible things the school has been involved in over the last decade, but that CANNOT get in the way of whether or not I think Baylor has a good basketball team and bias my top 25 vote. One has NOTHING to do with the other.
Absolute garbage that Seth Davis would tweet that about WSU and Koch. Brainwashed left-wing morons who believe everything they read from biased media with political axes to grind.

My guess is Seth Davis probably doesn't even have good understanding of what the Koch Brothers politics are nor does he probably have a clue exactly how much Koch money has contributed to Wichita State vs other academic institituions and other charitable endeavors. All he knows is that the Koch Brothers are worth a sh$t ton of money and the Koch name is on our arena. He probably assumes, like many others do as well, that Koch money is funding 95% of our athletic budget and paid for 100% of the Roundhouse Rennaisssance. I'm pretty sure that is not even close to accurate. Heck has David Koch ever even attended a WSU basketball game?
Seth also knows that in the circles he runs in that he can gain cool points by bashing the dastardly Koch Brothers even though he probably has no clue as to what he is talking about or exactly why they are such evil people. But he does have a podium to shout from so that right there makes him credible I guess.
Not sure I would get too worked up about it. It is what it is. Unfortunately, we tend to give guys like Seth Davis and Jerry Palm exactly what they want. Attention and to be noticed and to be responded to in any way, shape or form as long as they can count it.
