We don't have to agree with him, but it's not by definition a mistake in logic by him. It's entirely logical that whoever he replaced WSU with this week was only marginally behind WSU last week in his mind and they impressed him more.
That would make more sense if: (a) the Shocks had been somehow unimpressive, which they haven't; (b) there weren't teams ahead of them deserving to be passed, which there were; and (c) many other voters and rankers weren't moving WSU up, as they were. So it may not be an error "by definition," but under even a little scrutiny it simply doesn't stand up.

      • WSU holds steady at #23 on Tyson Alger's ballot.

        • Bark Berman's ballot.

          22. Wichita State (27-4) moves up two spots after beating Evansville and winning at Missouri State. Next: Missouri Valley Conference tournament.

          • Jerry Carino's ballot has us at 19.

"I’m bullish on Wichita State, which is playing great (no bad losses, No. 10 in Kenpom)".

Funny though, he has kansas at number one but a picture of 3G instead of Self. Ooops

And yet in college basketball, they have the complete OPPOSITE ideology. They're all about the big guys, all about scrapping the little guys and want the tournament to be only filled with P5 teams.

              Fairly ironic I'd say.
Right on. I had to stop following Seth Davis because his Twitter feed was inundated with political BS.

                Irony indeed, Fev
I don't tweet so I don't have to listen. However, I don't see a direct correlation of poverty of people to impoverished basketball programs.

I'd say more hypocritical. Hypocrites exist in all shapes and sizes and throughout the political spectrum, they're not just limited to liberals. There's a lot of conservatives who believe in limited government UNTIL they have some pet cause or project and then they're all for UNlimited government.

But I think Seth Davis fits the definition nicely. I wonder if 'his boss made him do it'. That would make me roflmao. Trump has a point when he talks about the bias of our corporatist press. All these media conglomerates put marketing plugs into their 'news', because it's good for bidness.

                  • Seth always makes some choices to get people fired up. I think he spends a few minutes writing down who he thinks are the best 25 at that moment. I doubt he spends much time analyzing his week to week trends.

Maybe it's just the FAMILY bidness where the Davis' are concerned.

Dunno, seems pretty consistent to me.

One set of rules for the elites and another for everyone else. If you try to speak out or improve yourself, you get shot down, and told to take what you get...
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Here's a perfect example of Seth Davis mentioning both WSU and the Koch brothers, and how they actually affect his ability to root for the Shox. I'm so tired of everything having to be politicized. Sports should be a safe haven from that world, not part of it.

                            • Disagrees with Seth Davis' politics and dislikes the fact that he shares them on social media.

Goes on Shockernet basketball forum and shares own politics without thought or care of others who might disagree or not care to hear them.

                              👍

I come hear for poll updates, not critiques of poll rankers politics
That's a great topic, and should be on the politics page, not the pollwatchers thread
Dominance is a state of mind.
