that will never happen. Only 5 power five schools in the NCAA Tournament. There is too much money for that and television revenues would sink because tv eyes and interest would plummet.

Kill the regular definition of "conference alignment"., make the Independent Basketball Coalition
If the P5 made a move to create a dividing line and eliminate the lower ranks of D1 from their little party, this could happen. Short of the P5 making a huge power play, this can't happen because of the number of teams and conference affiliations that would have to be satisfied.

Right now we are on the wrong side of any line that might get drawn. So are the rest of the teams in the proposed conference. This proposal or something similar is about the only way to move to the right side of the line, if it's drawn.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

          • What's ironic with a lot of these CBS guys - Palm, Davis, Rothstein, etc. - They all are left-wing liberals who want free hand-outs for everybody, who are against the big and powerful, and want a level playing field. And yet in college basketball, they have the complete OPPOSITE ideology. They're all about the big guys, all about scrapping the little guys and want the tournament to be only filled with P5 teams.

            Fairly ironic I'd say.

Either he's fallen under the spell of Facepalm, or you have to give him weird points for creativity and imagination. It can't be easy at this point, assuming you actually watch college basketball -- as presumably those who vote in polls do -- to come up with 25 teams you think are playing better right now than WSU is.

I think Seth's politics are bleeding into his basketball thought process. Dude isn't a big fan of the flyover parts of the country.

I actually think he's knowledgeable about basketball, but he can't defend both this week's ranking or last. One or the other he's effed up.

Where have any of these guys proselytized their political beliefs? I'be never seen any writings on their beliefs.

Who replaced WSU in this week's rankings for Seth?

We don't have to agree with him, but it's not by definition a mistake in logic by him. It's entirely logical that whoever he replaced WSU with this week was only marginally behind WSU last week in his mind and they impressed him more.

                        Twitter.

Sports journalists are some of the most liberal and least thoughtful out there.

Don't get into political discussions on this board. This board is about Shocker basketball.

It's generally thought of when you enter somebody's rankings and do not lose, that you shouldn't get bumped for that.

I mean, would a Michigan State or a Duke get bumped if they didn't lose one week if WSU beat some decent teams at home? Doubt it.
