But I just don't have complete faith that 26-6 with and RPI of 29 will actually get in since they reside in the MVC. They are 23-5, with a solid RPI and receiving zero votes. That indicates to me that they are perceived like an MVC team that no one has heard of, rather than as the #30 team in the nation. If they were being viewed correctly, they would be at least receiving one vote.

If I chose the field, they would absolutely be in.
No major gripes with what you said. However, its worth pointing out that the top 44-45 teams make the NCAA Tournament. It only takes 1 (out of 65) pollsters liking a team to get them into the "other's receiving votes" category, and even then, the total number of teams getting votes this week is merely 39.

Some team's receiving votes will not get a bid, while there will probably be 5-10 at-large bids given out to teams not receiving a single vote in the AP poll.

If they were being viewed correctly, they would receive zero votes, because they don't deserve top 25 status. Teams 26-50 (probably about where they are) deserve nothing as far as the AP poll goes.

How can you even CALL yourself an analyst let alone GET PAID for your opinion when you admit you're not going to watch teams outside your short band radar?! SMH.

            • John Feinstein had us the highest this week at #14.

25 voters (out of 65) still did not have us on their ballots.

Clickable. Sagarin has Illinois State at #54. That's not in at-large territory or even close to it.

Same with St. Mary's, and Sagarin isn't the only one that sees it that way.
